being in the industry for 10+ years I see all types of bettors and I will tell you the truth. The average bet is around $60. Who cares really? $20 on a game makes it more fun to watch as does $1000. I don't judge.:toast:

Btcl is more important than people think, even though most sports bettors don't even know what btcl means.... There aren't many who are able to predict where the line will close, but for those who are able to do this it is the difference between being a lifetime winner and being a lifetime loser.... I had to lose for almost two decades before I figured this out, once you're able to successfully predict where the line will close that is when you will have the edge, not the book... Just my two cents.

Teach us both of your pennies...@)

how do you predict where the line will close?

How do you predict which team will cover the spread? These questions are one in the same. If you bet on sports you should be committed to predicting where the line will close.

Sportsbetting and gambling are two different animals....those who win at sports do not lay -110 for a living....those who win are scalping and possibly hedging to a degree....betting sports should be a hobby and treated as such....betting sports requires too much hard work and hopefully the bettor takes advantage of streaks and good info....

I only play the NFL. Roughly 40 games a year at $100 a shot.

I only play if I feel I "have the edge" meaning that my numbers, stats, ratings and trends/angles that I use go in one direction.

Even when I feel that I have the edge (according to my figures) easily half the time the game comes down to the last few minutes
and can go either way. So half the time that I think I have an edge, I do not.

I win a little. But considering the amount of time and such put into it I would be better off working part-time at Burger King.

Money management is what separates winning gamblers from losing ones, not picking winners. (<)<
