So Pedro is "injured", huh?? This isn't the first time I've seen an occurance like this...the A's, while content winning the first two, have been preparing to face Martinez tonight. It's a major letdown going from Pedro to Casy "Beanpole" Fossum; and this is why I think the As will come out flat. Grady Little knows what he's doing here...thats why I like Boston at -115 and especially on the -1.5 at +170...I'm sure they avoid the sweep and get back to within 1 of the wildcard

play against the bummed out A's and watch the Red Sox bats finally heat up....

Where in Hartford are you from?

I grew up in that region.

I think that little will make it to the end of the season but its gonna be tough.

also - I had this vision. I thought about the heart of the sox linup : Nomar, Manny, Millar, Ortiz. 4 guys.

Who bats 1st ? Damon,Mueller,Nixon,Kapler - all fine at the first slot - and they'd fit into the #2 spot also.

Who Bats at the end of the lineup?
Varitek, Walker, maybe Nixon or Kapler, all can do the job and if one doesnt then the other takes their spot away.

Get to the point? Ok.

Do the sox need one more pitcher , to risk another suppan disaster? Or would a guy like Jim Thome or Sexon deem this whole pitching mess irrelevant?

Everyone is saying - we need a pitcher we need a pitcher - the sox might have enough pitchers and despite the solid run support (on paper) I think that one more big hitter in the mix would bring out even in the most experienced bullpens the deer in the headlights look.

Just a thought. Put Thome behind Manny, then bat millar, then ortiz.

Pennant, and so on.
