Here are the Belmont Stakes Probables PP's....

Anybody else notice that if Rachel doesn't run this race is chalked full of closers and completely absent of speed. Charitable looks to be most probable speed in this race with Miner's Escape possibly pushing him though. Miner's Escape is going to be a big price and appears overmatched. Who is going to be the speed? I think another horse will steal it this year if sent to the front.

BELMONT REPORT
MAY 29, 2009
by James Scully

"Eleven colts and geldings are being pointed toward next Saturday's Belmont S. (G1), but Preakness S. (G1) victress RACHEL ALEXANDRA (Medaglia d'Oro) looks doubtful. Co-owner Jess Jackson didn't rule her out when delaying a decision earlier this week, but he mentioned the June 27 Mother Goose S. (G1) as a possible alternative. It will be no surprise to see her officially withdrawn following next Monday's work."

With Rachel out who do you all think is gonna get the lead in the Belmont? The door is open for whoever wants it and its more than likely they could get away with it.

Miners Escape and Charitable Man are the only ones who have really shown speed. I think my money is gonna be on Charitable Man being right there and taking over from Miners Escape as he tires. If they have any separation I don't see any of the closers getting their runs in to beat him.

I'm having a little trouble reading the PDF supplied.

But if I see it correctly it looks like Charitable Man now moves way up here. He should be able to go to the front from the 2 hole and set a leisurely pace. With Lemon Drop Kid in his blood he could well carry all the way.

I really don't think Miner's Escape can run with him early.

Oh boy. Should be fun.

Charitableman won the futurity and the peter pan at belmont and broke his maiden at saratoga by 11 lengths. His only loss was the bluegrass because he didnt like the polytrack. Being a lemon drop kid colt who can run and win at a mile and a half, this makes this colt very dangerous and i will riding this horse come belmont day.
