You certainly do not need to be an Edwards fan to understand the magnitude of the "Swing States". (click on "View Election Trends")

Somebody said it in another thread (I forget whom), and they were right - the only Americans that really have a say in the Presidential elections are those residing the 'swing states'.

All I know is that Deans' votes will not go to the demis or the repulican party. A bunch of dim witted folks who drank his kool-aid.

I can't wait until this fall when the Iraqi leaders come to American and pledge their support behind Bush. This Iraq war will turn out to be more and more and more of a positive for Bush in the months to come. Kerry will resort to social security, health care and education as the demis always do. It is looking more and more like a 40 plus state rout for Bush down the road! So you libs should get your panties all tied up in knots now.

"Saddam Hussein is a guy who came to power through a CIA instigated coup," writes political analyst Al Martin in his column "Saddam, Watch Out for that Soap" published on Al Martin Raw: Political, Economic and Financial Intelligence (www.almartinraw.com)
Author of "The Conspirators: Secrets of an Iran Contra Insider," Martin, comparing former Panamanian strongman Antonio Noriega with Saddam Hussein, Martin writes, "And don't imagine for one minute what Noriega thought that all the documentation, all the tapes, and all the photos that he had of his meetings with George Bush, Bill Casey and Oliver North, in which North is complaining about Noriega asking for a per kilogram cocaine increase in his kickback money of CIA coke that's moving through Panama, which Noriega had recorded at the Intercontinental Hotel in Panama City, when North was there in that infamous meeting of December 10, 1985 (See "The Conspirators: Secrets of an Iran Contra Insider" by Al Martin for the details.)

"Noriega thought there's no way they can come after me.

Noriega wasn't stupid - but, hey, they did," writes Martin. "And nobody ever got to hear that tape. The New York Times and Washington Post never published a transcript of that tape either."

"The truth is that we should all be reminded what George Bush Sr. used to say about Noriega 'He may be a right wing butcher, but he s OUR right wing butcher.' The same could be said about Saddam Hussein.
Saddam is our right-wing butcher," writes Martin. "We have always supported him. We have kept him in power. He has always done our bidding - and this is particularly true during the Reagan-Bush Regime. When he was asked in 1985 to get Iraq involved in the Iranian situation and to go to war with Iran in 1986 in order to help divert and contain Iranian expansionism, he did it. He was a dutiful Bushonian soldier."

"When the BBC announced that Saddam Hussein had used biological weepiness on his own people in 1988 (the Kurdish incident when 5000 people were killed in one hour), those were after all American biological weapons that he used. And the Bush administration was scared witless about that."

"When almost the entire rest of the world demanded that the Hague indict him, it was the Bush I administration that intervened and pressured the Hague not to indict him."

"Then in 1989 when the so-called Iraq Gate scandal began to break open, there were Congressional hearings about Bushonian mischief making with Saddam Hussein. But who remembers that now? Many senior Reagan-Bush people were inculpated in a scheme to illegally transfer non-conventional American weapons systems to Saddam."

"When Senator Christopher Dodd's committee attempted to subpoena Saddam Hussein, that subpoena was the only subpoena issued by the Iraq Gate investigating committee that was blocked by the Bush Regime. He was told to keep himself scarce and Saddam kept himself scarce when the Democratically controlled committee was investigating Bushonian involvement in the illicit transfer on non-conventional weapons systems to Iraq. That was when Saddam suddenly went on this holiday someplace in the Caspian Sea."

Al Martin's reference to "Saddam, Watch Out for That Soap" comes from the fact that Enemies of Bush have often died very "conveniently" at very "convenient" times.

"It should also be remembered how CIA doper George Morales supposedly slipped on a bar of soap in prison and was killed when his head hit the floor," Martin reminds his readers. "That was one day before he was due to be released -- when he was going to Washington to testify before the Kerry Committee hearing."

"So Saddam -- remember what happened to the other right wing dictators."

D2,
The Edwards map defines a "swing state" as state that has voted both Dem and Republican over the past 3 elections.

I know, I know - not exactly scientific criteria

Kennedy, Johnson, Carter, Clinton were nothing more than an irritating hemorrhoid to US enemies. Nixon, Reagan, Bush II had to come in and clean up their stink every damn time.

Yeah, because Clinton in '96 won such a blowout that he took some Republican bastions. That will not be the map that Kerry would focus on. If I had a top 5 focus for Kerry it'd be:
1. Florida
2. Arizona
3. Pennsylvania
4. Michigan
5. West Virginia

Those Republicans were good at creating enemies to go after. After all, Reagan and Rumsfeld and co. propped up Saddam and Osama in the 80's.

You can forget Florida.

The democrats were after Jeb from the get go after the 2000 Bush victory. That's was the revenge election. Jeb won easily and so will Bush II.
Arizona will be a Bush victory as well Michigan. Pennsylvania and West Virginia I would also favor Bush although not locks like the other three states.

Joint,
There is little correlation between the citizens state vote (Governor) and how they vote Federal (Congress, President).

New York is a good example of this.

Carter and Clinton were absolutely nutless. In fact I would label Clinton a traitor. Military secrets were given to the communist chinese under his watch. He took there money in return.

Iowa will go Bush for sure. Minnesota will more than likely ( 80 percent chance ) go Bush as will Wisconsin ( 88.54 percent chance ).

I just think that the Dems there will be motivated to get it right after feeling they were disenfranchised in 2000. It'll make it almost more fun to vote there. Oh, and does your opinion change if Graham or Nelson are VEEP? They are very popular.

It wouldn't matter if Janet Reno, Dan Marino, Bob Graham, Billy Graham, and Willie Nelson were all on the ticket. The motivation on the part of the dems for the results of 2000 was in 2002. Jeb squashed his oppenent without even trying. By the way, the republican motivation will far outweigh the demi motivation as the republicans still and will remember that the race was called by the liberal elite media before the voting booths were even closed in the state in 2000. That is what will be remembered by the silent majority. The libs will play it up big as usual, Slick Willy and Jesse Jackson will make speaches from the mount, but they will fall with even bigger disappointment. Liberal Florida judges ruling from the bench will also be remembered. At the end of the night Jennings and Rather will be threatening that the end of the world is near.
