Ravens season ticket holder. Watch them every week.
Loved them last week, this week not so much.
I can typically spot let-downs and this seems like one, coming off a big win against their bitter rival. The problem is Harbaugh always has them ready for playoff games.
Ravens O:
I feel in order for the Ravens to win they will need to run the ball effectively and catch NE in a few play-action deep passes. As much as I'd like him to prove me wrong, I don't think Flacco will consistently beat Revis and Browner. I do think Forsett has a good game especially if Eugene Monroe is back at tackle. This will shift road-grader Marshall Yanda back to his original position at guard. The Ravens have big time difficulty against teams with a great pass rush. See Houston, Pitt 2nd gm and a few others where Flacco was running for his life and getting knocked around. Kubrick has been great most of the year and had an excellent game plan against Pitt last week. Two TE sets really gave them fits. Should be interesting if the Pats decide to blitz or sit back in coverage.
Ravens D:
The Ravens typically have trouble against teams who throw the ball deep against them, especially with their current make shift secondary. Webb is not what he used to be and they sorely miss Jimmy Smith. Rarely are the safeties in the right position on those deep passes as well. They still have a very solid run D and an extremely talented front 7. With Ngata back, teaming up with Brandon Williams the middle of the line is extremely stout. Suggs and Dumervil cause problems for most teams and Pernell McPhee is a hidden gem. He will be getting paid big time somewhere else next year. They do not blitz often and rarely take risks as Dean Pees is extremely conservative, this allows teams to rack up yardage but struggle in the red zone. Baltimore is one of the best red zone defenses in the league. I expect to see Will Hill on Gronk, a big physical safety that gave Jimmy Graham fits when they played New Orleans earlier this year.
My 2 cents.
I think Belichek and Brady will have a plan the question will be if they are able to execute it.
The Pats either win going away or the Ravens win straight up. If you're betting the Ravens take the juicy moneyline and if you like the Pats lay 7 or sell a few points.
Dont know how much this will help anyone but I felt like posting it.
I still haven't decided as of yet.
