Ravens season ticket holder. Watch them every week.

Loved them last week, this week not so much.

I can typically spot let-downs and this seems like one, coming off a big win against their bitter rival. The problem is Harbaugh always has them ready for playoff games.

Ravens O:

I feel in order for the Ravens to win they will need to run the ball effectively and catch NE in a few play-action deep passes. As much as I'd like him to prove me wrong, I don't think Flacco will consistently beat Revis and Browner. I do think Forsett has a good game especially if Eugene Monroe is back at tackle. This will shift road-grader Marshall Yanda back to his original position at guard. The Ravens have big time difficulty against teams with a great pass rush. See Houston, Pitt 2nd gm and a few others where Flacco was running for his life and getting knocked around. Kubrick has been great most of the year and had an excellent game plan against Pitt last week. Two TE sets really gave them fits. Should be interesting if the Pats decide to blitz or sit back in coverage.

Ravens D:

The Ravens typically have trouble against teams who throw the ball deep against them, especially with their current make shift secondary. Webb is not what he used to be and they sorely miss Jimmy Smith. Rarely are the safeties in the right position on those deep passes as well. They still have a very solid run D and an extremely talented front 7. With Ngata back, teaming up with Brandon Williams the middle of the line is extremely stout. Suggs and Dumervil cause problems for most teams and Pernell McPhee is a hidden gem. He will be getting paid big time somewhere else next year. They do not blitz often and rarely take risks as Dean Pees is extremely conservative, this allows teams to rack up yardage but struggle in the red zone. Baltimore is one of the best red zone defenses in the league. I expect to see Will Hill on Gronk, a big physical safety that gave Jimmy Graham fits when they played New Orleans earlier this year.

My 2 cents.

I think Belichek and Brady will have a plan the question will be if they are able to execute it.

The Pats either win going away or the Ravens win straight up. If you're betting the Ravens take the juicy moneyline and if you like the Pats lay 7 or sell a few points.

Dont know how much this will help anyone but I felt like posting it.

I still haven't decided as of yet.

best of my knowledge, pats give up very few sacks..if brady has time, like i believe he will, ravens may be in for a long game..flacco, now facing 2 very good corners, not sure about the ne pass rush...ravens played these dudes awful tough in the past...

thanks for posting

With you on BAL being in a good spot last week and bad spot this week.
Got to be a bit of let down spot after BAL got a hard to come by night game win at Heinz field.

Both Monroe and Jernigan returned to practice yesterday, will know more today if they are playing but it seems likely they will give it a go.

Spelling error on my initial post, obviously Kubrick = Kubiak. He will also be key, sometimes he makes all the right calls and others he fails to adjust to what the defense is doing, we will see.

Kubiak= Kubrick? Are you another one of the "lets bench Joe Flacco" fans?

kubiak has led this team to the highest yards and point totals in franchise history. Ravens are lucky to have him

I am also a hardcore Raven fan and I do not see any let down at all. If this was a regular season game then yes it would probably be a let down. We are the only team that has a winning record against the pats in the playoff at their house. The last time the pats played a team with a great pass rush they got crushed by the KC Chiefs. This game will not be a blow out either way but I think the ravens + points is the smarter bet.

Are you able to comprehend words as they are arranged in a sentence? "Spelling error on my initial post, obviously Kubrick = Kubiak."

"Kubrick has been great most of the year and had an excellent game plan against Pitt last week."

As to your question, I think very highly of Flacco. When he has time to throw he's very dangerous.

Lol Kubrick is no where near Kubiak. I thought you were bashing him with that name LOL. But alright typo it is. Kubiak goes to more of a 4 WR set this weekend imo.

I hear you.... for one I like the Patriots - the points. Number 1 seeds off a bye that lost in week 17 have done well in this round over the years. I think Flacco throws an INT or two this game.

Trusting Kubiak to outsmart Belichick on the road in a playoff game is way too much to ask. This coming from a Texans fan who had to watch his inability to adjust to anything year after year. If you watched the Texans v. Ravens this year you saw what a team that knows how to shutdown Kubiaks offense can do to him. Now look back at the scores of Texans v. Patriots of the last few years, Belichick owns him. The only improvement Kubiak has made this year is that Harbaugh has forced him to have some balls when it comes to in game decisions and Flacco is marginally better than Schuab.

To me the key to this game is whether the Patriots can score more than 20 points on the Ravens D, and I would cash that check any day of the week.

BAL just accomplished something big for the organization. To go into PIT and finally win a playoff game, at night!. They have to be feeling good about themselves. And yes, BAL has given NE fits in past playoff games. Reason why I expect Belichick to have his team on mission this weekend. Also, when BAL beat NE last time they played in playoffs, no Gronk. Gronk should have success, or at least open holes in the secondary.

Patriots 34-17

Last year, right before Kubiak got fired, HOU 31 vs NE 34. Not exactly shutting them down... spread was about -7 for NE vs a 2-11 HOU team.
