<!----><!--paging_filter-->It's finally here. The much anticipated 60 Minutes segment on insider cheating and online poker. At the center of the investigation, AbsolutePoker.com, which has worked over the past year to repair its reputation.
In truth, Absolute Poker responded much faster than many of its colleagues have in the past. A number of online sportsbooks and online casinos in particular have been involved in various payout disputes relating to software cheating (by the players), bonus abuse and much more. Absolute reimbursed affected customers within a three month period and prior to the completion of an internal investigation. Of course that company is now maligned by the reality that it was trusted associates of the company who engaged in the cheating.
The results of the four-month investigation by 60 Minutes correspondent Steve Kroft, producer Ira Rosen and The Washington Post's two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter Gilbert Gaul will appear this Sunday, November 30, at 7 p.m. EST/PST on 60 Minutes.

I kept hanging out in front of the office hoping I would get interviewed, never happened. AP is good people, its a shame that there is a rotten apple in every bunch. I personally know a few guys that are involved in getting everyone their money back. I commend their efforts.

Why finally? Even this article states that AP responded "much faster than many of its colleagues have in the past" .As soon as they found out there was a crook in their midst they started to rectify the problem and repay their customers. Most of what I have heard is that they inherited the problem when they bought UB, and have been paying for it ever since.

People have known about this issue for almost a year now. But they still have 3000 players that play every minute of the day. It doesnt seem to bother too many people.

having said this, this piece on 60 minutes is REAL bad for the online poker industry. You can FORGET about getting new players if they see this story.

finally, AP/UB are stone cold crooks, bottom line

I don't know about that .. as I have played at both sites, without any issues.

All I have heard on this isssue, was all 2nd-hand,or internet rumor.

It would be good to hear from the ones,in-the-know.

IMO:
If every company, that had 1-2 dishonest persons, working for them,
were called " stone cold crooks " ... I'd guess more than most companies,
are guilty of the same.

I will wait until I KNOW the facts before, judging them "GUILTY"!
