INSIDE INFO - how can a person get it during the playoffs and not have it all year?

I am really curious how a person can SUDDENLY get "inside info". I mean, if you're close to the team or something, you can get little tidbits of info each week but it's hard to believe someone didn't get these tidbits for 18 weeks in the regular season and suddenly gets it now.

I worked in the Athletic Department as a graduate student - and I knew a lot of things about players/coaches that most people didn't. The thing was that I got this info ALL year and not just before an NCAA tournament game.

I have never worked for an NFL or NBA team, but I would imagine that anyone that did would certainly be privvy to information, That is something I do not deny ... but ... that sort of info is MUCH MUCH more helpful for pre-season games when motivation factors, coaches' attitudes, playing times and gameplans are still a mystery for the gaming public. The lines are not as sharp during the preseason, and that's when you can REALLY make a killing with "inside info". You can;t use "inside info" to make a huge play during a playoff game when every media outlet within 100 miles is up your ass. You do it when NOBODY IS LOOKING - and that's during the preseason.
ANyways, just my thoughts.

I might want to call Plummer at halftime to tell him what the halftime line is and who I have played. Could you ask you "source" if he keeps his cell on during halftime?
