So I wanted to change up some insurance I have and the agent I got tells me I gotta fill out this INS form for SUGEF to elaborate on my income, cedula, etc. You can do it in the name of the company that owns your car, house whatever but then they want CPA, Tax Declaration, Personaria, blah blah blah.

Whats going on with SUGEF lately? I had to do all this forms crap when I got a loan now they want it for INSURANCE? This sounds retarded. Any ideas what they are trying to accomplish?

The agent told me any existing insurance packages will be valid but once you have to renew you will need to fill out the same forms.

SUPOSEDLY this is to prevent people from insuring assets derived from money laundering? I am not quite sure I understood the 'logic' but I also didnt think that they were going to ask for the entire 'income' crap, what I read only mentioned utility bill and some other crap

well , if they do that I will probably cancel my car insurance and life insurance too and send them a nice letter as well

Unfortunately I am not laughing but on the same line I should be able to withdraw some $ that are available through the insurance policy that I have, so at least in my case I will inflict some $ damage to these shitheads (although of course, I am just a drop in the bucket when it comes to the finances of a white-elephant like INS)

the question here would be if newcomers to the insurance market would comply to the same ridiculous guidelines

Yes if you are doing it personally they 'only' want you to provide Cedula, Utility Bill & Income amount. HOWEVER if the income amount is above X amount they will hit you up for your caja slip or cpa & tax delcaration.

The guy told me some bullshit that they had cases were someone comes down with dirty money, buys a brand new car and makes it disappear. Claim insurance and now has money free and clear.

That logic is so fucked in so many ways. Seriously if your buying a "new" car it's not going to be less than $10K which is the required amount, to be obligated to sign a SUGEF paper and declare where the money comes from. Same with buying a house. So they are going to piss off 90% of their customers to try and catch maybe 1% of their customers that are smart enough to 'slip' through the cracks.

Possible solutions:

- Check off correct income amount and provide additional papers as required (this might lead to taxation evidence later on)

- Check off lowest income amount to avoid additional papers (you might get red flagged for having a car or whatever worth more then your pay rate but you can say it was given to you by your parents or whatever)

- Tell INS to go fuck themselves.

- Wait for full implementation of TLC so new insurance companies will come (but SUGEF will probably impose the same requirements)

I have to go to BCR today to do a similar report on why I have money wired there. I had to pay a CPA to prepare the paperwork. Right now my acct is closed (I know there is a similar thread here about BCR itself).

Yeah I saw the thread about BCR getting picky about receiving money. I think there is a big difference though between a BANK WIRE and retard INSURANCE.

Yeah VD it's the happiest little piece of paradise on earth lol....
