I have enjoyed Vegas in many ways for a long, long time.

But.... Let's be honest boys....

The books are all cry baby pussies who won't let you gamble. There will be NO discussion on this.

Next point...

The whole place is an absolute LLCL. "Localized Legalized Criminal Activity"

They use every form of distraction and perversion to screw people out of ALL their money.

Don't make yourself look stupid by coming on here with some bullshit Oscar Goldman story about how warm and fuzzy Vegas is.

They will do everything possible to KILL people and their families financially... Then if you show any slight possibility of having anyway to consistently win 32 cents or more a week...

They will limit you, bar you, or even threaten to arrest you.

It is a complete cesspool with all the trappings of Disney World for adults.

Case closed... don't forget to tip your waitress!

The world would be a whole lot better if everyone

Lots of good points, but I still like that cesspool.

Don't be confused folks.

I am referring to the ONE AND ONLY reason Vegas exists... GAMBLING

Now that rates on rooms, food and entertainment have risen to horrible heights....
Don't be preaching the "value" of any of these things. There is NO VALUE.

Just short term distractions to keep you around until they can screw you as hard as possible!

Let me guess....you went to Vegas, lost $2500 at blackjack, bought a hooker who ended up having a penis and got mugged outside a strip joint....

Very funny shitweed.

Have not been for a while. A couple points just for you, peteep (whatever that means)

A real player could give two shits about $2500 at the BJ table. And obviously.. while I have not been for a while... You have NEVER been if you do not see the truth in my earlier remarks.

No comment about your girl friend, err I mean, the hooker with the dick!

Ellis Island is still serving a great testing $4.95 Sirloin Steak with Salad, veggies, baked potatoe.

In Philly you can get a $6 burger at Carls for $3.95.

In Vegas you can get a $16 steak dinner for $5.

Last time I checked, there still weren't any mandatory requirements to lose your money gambling before or after eating that dinner.

Hey man,

Not bitter. Just have seen several threads on here about the lack of any "REAL" sportsbooks anymore in Vegas.

That is certainly true.

Thought maybe we should exchange some info and expose the root of the whole problem!

That's all.

Probably is...when I was in Vegas I was calling in my bets to my offshore books! Wish I could say it was cause I was betting too big....was just a matter of better lines.

Hey Fez,

Typical local partyline bullshit remarks.

The shitburgers of which you speak are NOT what is advertised to entice people to your fair city.

That cheap crap is just to keep the bums alive until the casinos relieve them of their last few cents.

Say hello to Oscar for us!

Packer, fat drunk and stupid is no way to live your life.

The Ellis Island steak dinner is a fine meal. If people choose to impail themselves on their own sword by playing the slots inside, Vegas is not to blame.

As for all the talk about low limits, etc. One can still get down big bets in this town. Also, since 95% of the rx.com posters are likely betting a max of $1,000 a game, I get a kick out of the critical comments.

I should be mad at the low limits. Not all the guys complaining!

About the only thing I miss about Vegas after living there for 18 years is the food.

Lots of variety and the prices were unbeatable.

The steak at ELLIS ISLAND for the price was a fairly good bargain......and I loved their micro brew there as well.

Do they still have the free bingo there at 9am?

The best one is when you beat the crap out of one of these joints in Blackjack single deck games and they show you the door reason being right to refuse service.

Does the Westward Ho still offer the 85cent super-sized dog? I remember practically living on them for 3 weeks one summer when I stayed at La Concha and practically lived in back row of Stardust.
Its a great town if you understand its limitations. Best book ever written about Las Vegas is 'The Money and the Power' by Denton and Morris. Some consider a negative take on LV but enjoyed it and still love that town.

Hey Boys,

As I said at the outset, I have enjoyed many things about Vegas.

People have offered some "weak" support to the shithole, but still I have not seen anyone deny that the entire legal, governmental, and economic system in Vegas is totally set up to entice, distract, and untimately completely fleece EVERYONE they can.

You can dress the bitch up anyway you want, but the city is an immoral hellhole. Not that we don't make our own decisions and live with them. We do. Just that their INTENTION is so obvious.

Gee, you guys ever been to Disneyworld? Those f***ers aren't happy unless you buy all your souvenirs there, get at least two meals a day there, and spend your nights in their hotels/motels. They do it by spending all their efforts at targeting your kids to be their biggest sales people. That my friends is a far worse fleecing than Vegas has. In Vegas the suggestions are all subtle and everyone is certainly capable of having a reasonably priced vacation. I always suggest getting a car and breaking your trip up sometime in the first half. Get out of the middle of town and drive to see Red Rocks or Hoover Dam or even just a mall...anything that isn't tied into a casino. Use that to catch your breath and get realistic about the gambling and all the lures. If you keep your perspective Vegas is a great place to spend 3 days getting away from it all. Just don't come into town expecting to spend 12 hours a day every day in a casino because that is how you get into trouble.

Ringing endorsement!

If you have to advise guests to get the hell out of the town (on only a three day visit) to clear their mind and "get realistic about the gambling and all the lures", what does that tell you?
