ground hog is right, this is important stuff. Even if you can only track your homer team that is still worth the effort sharing.

First Devonte Fields, and now it looks like former 5 star recruit Brandon Carter's career is done at TCU. Academically ineligble this year.

University of Texas football players Kendall Sanders and Montrel Meander were charged with sexual assault, a second-degree felony, on Thursday, according to UTPD spokesperson Cindy Posey.

In addition, Sanders is facing an additional charge of improper photography.

According to Posey, Sanders and Meander will be arrested, but bail has been set at $75,000 for both players, while Sanders has an additional $20,000 bail for an improper photography charge.

According to the affidavit obtained by Orangebloods.com, campus police officers were dispatched to San Jacinto Hall Dormitory on June 21 at 3:43 a.m. to a report of sexual assault. Officers said they found the victim tucked underneath an SJH entry service desk crying.

The victim, which is unnamed, said she had known Meander for over a year, and ran into him on 6th Street in Austin on June 20. She agreed to ride back to San Jacinto Hall with Meander. She reportedly took a shower and agreed to have consensual sex with Meander.

After several minutes of sex, Sanders allegedly knocked at the door. The victim, who was naked at the time, told police officers Sanders was her friend for over a year.

When Sanders entered the room, Meander allegedly walked into the bathroom. Sanders allegedly took off his clothes and got into the bed with the victim, who said she did not want to have sex with him.

According to the affidavit, "Sanders lifted the victim's legs up in the air while forcibly penetrating the victim's vagina with his penis. Sanders was then able to separate the victim's legs and place one of the victim's legs around his waist. From this position, Sanders continued to penetrate the victim's vagina with his penis."

In addition, Sanders alleged penetrated the victim anally.

According to the affidavit, "During this time Meander came back into the room. Both he and Sanders forcibly penetrated the victim by putting their penises into her vagina and mouth. The victim asked Meander why he was doing this and he did not reply, he just stared at her."

The victim said she closed her eyes and alleges that both Sanders and Meander continued to assault her. She saw a flash after it occurred and assumed it was a cell phone used to take a video or picture of her. Detectives later located at least one picture on Sanders' phone.

Sanders, a junior wide receiver, played in 12 games in 2013, including seven starts. He was expected to be starter in 2014 after finishing third on the team last year in both receptions (37) and receiving yards (361). A former prep all-American out of Athens (TX), Sanders was a four-star recruit and a member of the Rivals100 in 2012.

The latest allegations are not Sanders' first misstep since entering the Texas program. He was suspended for the first game of the 2013 season after being arrested for DWI in April of last year.

Meander, a redshirt freshman wide receiver, is a player that has earned praise for his efforts in practices and was expected to provide depth and big-play ability to Texas' receiving corps. A late addition to UT's 2013 recruiting class, Meander committed to the Longhorns out of Amarillo (TX) Palo Duro in the days prior to National Signing Day.

Strong, who is very adamant about his players respecting women, indefinitely suspended them from everything Texas football, pending the outcome of this mess. Dumbasses....

UGA is going to have several suspensions to start the year.

I think the issue is finding teams who play tough opponents to start the year. A lot of teams start off w/ gimme's (1AA teams or low-level D1 teams); UF opens w/ 2 really soft opponents (Idaho & Eastern Michigan). So, any suspensions won't matter much. Teams w/ tough openers (UGA) may have some problems.

3 more dismissals for Texas. Overstreet and Bergeron of note. Strong is not messing around and hopefully getting the team's attention

I think Strong can see that this is not going to be a break thru season. Losing these players hurts but he can always look back and say if these guys would not have messed up we might have done better. I still say he was no where near the top of their list to replace Mack. Maybe I am wrong but it is very possible that all the players who played under Mack notice a big difference but not necessarily for the better. Strong is going to go against some very strong offenses. He left the SEC before QB's began to improve. Some discount the Big 12 but when it comes to offense their top teams are right up there. I am a Sooner fan and I was not a Mack fan and I thought he needed to be replaced a long time ago.....but I think they settled on Strong. But that is just me.

Damn, this stuff never ends. OU starting RB Joe Mixon wanted for assaulting a girl. I say wanted because a warrant was issued for his arrest. And it broke on the local news last night that he was on the run. This looks like it's going to get nasty. Luckily OU is stacked at RB. But this kid could have been the best of the lot. At this rate, OU and Texas may have trouble finding a full team to suit up for the RRR.

Josh Turner whom Strong had previously suspended has allowed him to rejoin the team. He was probably the biggest loss of the bunch had he not come back. Potential starter at Safety/ Cornerback. If only Chevoski Collins would be welcomed back.

Miami Hurricanes already down to 3rd choice QB starter for trip to Louisville and that guy will be someone in the program for less than a month (either heaps or a freshman). #1 QB, Williams, is rehabbing an injury and #2 QB, Olsen, is suspended for failing a drug test

here's the local canes take on the projected starter:

Starter: Jake Heaps (yes, THAT jake heaps....ex-BYU, ex-Kansas)
Backup: Brad Kaaya (true freshman)

even with Teddy Bridgewater the Cardinals were only 25th in scoring offense last year. thoughts on under 56?

Nebraska db Charles Jackson out for season. He was supposed to be one of the Huskers key defenders. http://nebraska.247sports.com/Bolt/...il&utm_term=0_b5300ae947-cab8945df0-220998289

Playing the nickel-back, which may be the most important spot in a Pelini secondary. A lot is asked of that position. He was really turning some heads too, and not just there but playing special teams. The guy to replace him, as the article states, is Byerson Cockrell a JC guy that is lanky. The drop-off shouldn't be huge especially since the secondary is looking pretty talented, but that does put a wrench in depth. There will likely be a freshman backing him up, unless they decide to move another guy. Cockrell was going to get a serious look at starting anyway....probably at the corner.
