Danny- if I play one of these a week for 17 weeks I'm only spending $340 a year on these goof bets at that rate if I just hit 1 over the next 293 years I will have come out ahead.
BTW- this is actually only the 4 or 5th time I've bet one of these Torture Teasers, I will usually write down 15 or so games that I think may have a chance at hitting and select 8 from that. I was just unlucky that I chose 49ers Over, I had La Tech Over, Arkansas Under, Giants -1, and USC -17 as all games that I passed on but games that were in my set of 15 plays or so.
I also wish I had seen Sixth Sense's post about Colts Over because that would have cashed had I switched it with the 49ers Over but unfortunately he doesn't post until Sunday or I could have gotten that play.
Obviously it's all luck, but I'd say alot of the time when you win a bet it's by more than 7 points anyway so really I'm basically just trying to hit an 8 team parlay with 5000 to 1 odds.
This is now the 3rd time I've hit 7 of 8 or 6 of 7 on a parlay. Two weeks ago I had a ML dog parlay on Colorado St., Michigan, GTech, Mizzou, Wisconsin, Auburn, and Kansas who blew an 11 pt. halftime lead and cost me an 800 to 1 shot.
Last year in ML at Pinnacle I had an 8 team ML dog parlay that would have paid $1,700 to 1 with my only loser being Tampa Bay 5-3, however it was the very first game in my parlay so it was a loser from the start.
I know parlays aren't recommended, but I'm up a couple dimes on the year anyway so I don't mind shelling out $20 for a chance at a huge payout. I think I've got a better chance at hitting one of these than hitting $100,000 on a pick 5 lotto ticket.
