Notre Dame
Notre Dame . . . . . . . the name itself use to strike fear and respect in the hearts of any opponent. Last year, it served as a reminder that there was going to be a team scrimmage on Saturday to all opponents. In 2007, Notre Dame was the laughing stock of college football. This season though could return some respect to the Notre Dame program and here is why: remember that last season Notre Dame came back with only 9 total starters. One of those positions that needed filled was the QB position. Three guys battled for the position and one became the winner -- Jimmy Clausen -- then he got injured. It was the typical "anything that can go wrong WILL go wrong" type of a season for Notre Dame. They had to play a lot of young inexperienced players and deal with injuries through the year. The result was a mighty program that could only muster 3 measly little wins. Now, because of that season, everyone thinks Notre Dame needs to be faded. That's fine, let the public fade them, we'll make some money. This will not be the same Notre Dame team we saw a year ago, guys. This team is not only loaded with talent, it is loaded with something it did not have in abundance last season -- experience and health. Also, it has to be noted that the outlook of a much easier schedule has to be a motivating factor for a team that experienced what they did last year. Notre Dame brings back 16 starters from last season and has a lot of talent for their depth.
-- Play On Games for 2008 -- All home games. I know this sounds simple, but after going 1-6 in home games last year, I look for a much improved Notre Dame to light it up at home every game they get the chance. With 7 home games, I think they win them all and will likely cover the spread in most of them.
