Not one illegal warhead. Not one drum of chemicals. Not one incriminating document. Not one shred of evidence that Iraq has weapons of mass destruction in more than a month of war and occupation ...

Full editorial here.

surprised that a guy as smart as yourself would ask this question.....if there are wmd`s,production materials and/or raw materials, they are more than likely buried in the desert or in bunkers..maybe some have been shipped to syria(as this latest scientist has indicated).......patience,my man.......i think this argument will be more than fair if nothing is uncovered down the road....but,we seem to be proceeding like saddam was an idiot...which is obviously wrong....

the push to war was initiated by the "removal of wmd`s" rationale....that couldn`t possibly have been lost on saddam when guys with little blue hats were combing the country in pre-war iraq.......i doubt that he`d leave anything laying around....

supposedly, they are now getting some info from one of the apprehended scientists....

think about it....a month into the war....a week or two since you had some semblance of control.......the water and power still aren`t restored...i think that takes precedence right now..i think the rush to judgement is a little bit unfair....even for the bush bashers...patience...

if after 6 months nothing is found, then i think saddam outsmarted us and we should take some serious heat...

one question....with all this going on for years, why couldn`t saddam give definitive info on the destruction of the anthrax and other bio and chem weapons the teams in the late 90`s indicated he had?....if that proof had been available, this war would have been much more difficult to justify....

NOW we're talking semantics. The search was for WMDs, not the means to produce them. You hands will always come up empty if you're searching for INTENT.

rfcr.....as i said, there seems to be an unspoken inclination to think saddam was a fool....i think that`s obviously way off base....a despot?....a thief?.....no doubt....but not stupid....if after all the resolutions, inspections and accusations saddam still had actual drums of sarin and anthrax laying around, then he should be found and executed for ignorance....

my argument is that it`s way,way premature to make judgements on this issue...you are just flat out setting yourself up to be lambasted down the road...

give it some time....let`s see what shakes out....and then have an honest discussion on the end game.....

those of us that gamble, know that you never celebrate until all the cards have been played....patience....

I couldn't agree with you more.

Nevertheless, I agree. The tendency is to assume that Saddam, as was done with Hitler, is a maniac and an not too intelligent. This viewpoint can do nothing but hurt any cause being fought for in this conflict.

The gambling statement is true for longshots and underdogs...
But I wouldn't gamble with the future of any nation, much less my own.

no...the gambling statement was in reference to crowing when you are ahead and before the game is over......it`s usually the kiss of death.......if you are right, the administration will be in big trouble....if you are wrong, they will be somewhat vindicated....time will tell...

If we knew how it wouldn't be a catch 22....

I use "we" because I am about as near to solving this as anyone...

It took Hillary a couple of years to locate her scam rose law firm papers.

Give the US atleast 1/10 of that time and they'll find the weapons.
