Fair enough, I don't disagree with your assessment of the competition. I also think that many Canadians recognize the disparity in talent between our team and the other nations. We're still happy and proud they won but anything less would be considered disastrous based on their level compared to the others.

Considering canadian athletes do not get anything close to the cash that other countries back their athletes with, and is one of the bigger countries that DO NOT pay their athletes for a medal, I would have to say that our patriotism is not failing and much more than a rant.
We stood proud with them last year (NO GOLD THERE) and will continue.
It's not like a National League, where if your team isn't doing well, you can jump off the banwagon, it's YOUR COUNTRY!
