In this day and age, how do touts make any money at all?

There are so many sites now that readily post service plays that you can find out just about any of the selections of most tout services. So technically, it would only take one subscriber to pretty much blow up your business model (since most sites steal information from each other...so in other words, if it gets posted on one site, that will probably lead to 5+ sites posting your plays). I can understand if you've done a great job of marketing yourself over the years. The one person that comes to mind is Phil Steele of Northcoast fame. Although Northcoast has been nothing to write home about for quite some time, ESPN picked him up so I'm sure he must do well. Other than him though, I can't think of too many others that have really become a household name (maybe Jim Feist and his group?). It just seems like you'd need to have a "real" job to keep things afloat.

You got people on this site who think 911 was a computer simulation. Sandy hook was fake , and the moon landing was not real .

And you want to know how touts make money ?

For some it might be a matter of trust and time. Would rather get the picks from the actual source and get it quicker.

Also so they might want to get the reasoning or write ups for a pick. Most of the picks posted here and other places don’t come with write ups.

That makes a little more sense. FWIW, a friend of mine is subscribing to one of the top rated basketball services on the Sports Monitor of Oklahoma (it never gets posted, hence the reason for his purchase). The guy at the service said sometimes the picks will come out erratically because he's at work when he sends them (kind of indicates to me that these touts must not make all that much). Admittedly, it's just one, but I question why he would need to do this if he is ranked so high. And being that no one releases his plays, you'd actually think he'd have more business.

Back in the 900 number era I'm sure some were pulling in 100k during a football season. A lot of the Feist crew became millionaires I surmise cause of the USA network tv show they had on Sat/Sun mornings.

I'm guessing the big name guys still do ok

Don't forget about those that fake betting slips, accuse others of foul play, and wear white jeans to boot.

Yeah, was thinking the same for the established guys (said as much in my original post). Just hard to imagine the others.
