In A Full NFL Career, Would Bo Jackson Be Considered Best RB Ever?

Sure to get debate from the older generation, but..........No doubt in my mind.........

Size, power, and not only possibly the fastest running back to ever play the game, but one of the fastest period at around 4.2 - 40 yard dash. The 1st and only Running back (2 now, Ahman Green just did it) to have 2 career TD runs of 90 yards or more in NFL. 5.5 yards per average carry tells the story also, up there with Barry and Jim Brown. A shame it had to come to an end.....

Art Shell was a fukkin piece of **** for mis using him and playing Allen instead a lot.

Also how about when he hit ground balls to short (hard ones) and beat them out

Would of also of been another Mickey Mantle in bases

best ever running back, not so sure about that. would have been a hall of famer for sure.

What about a guy like Gale Sayers who also only played 4 years or so?

All-time greatness is measured on more than just a few years, durability is a big part of saying anyone was the best ever...of course he was magnificent but I don't see how you can put him at the top.

lol...he could run for about 45 minutes around the front yard before anyone ever touched him.

would bo have been the best ever...i don't know but i guarantee he would've been better than emmitt smith. people tend to romanticize the guys cut down short and make them bigger than they actually were. bo would have been great but, better than jim brown, walter payton, o.j., sayers...i doubt it.

Anyhow, I don't think there is much doubt he could of been. He or Barry in my opinon. I will probably catch heat for this, but I don't count Jim Brown. He was simply ahead of his time, a man among boys. Would of definitely been well "above average" in todays game, but couldn't of touched guys like Barry or Bo.....

Remember back at Auburn they had Bo , Tommy Agee and Brent Fullwood..that was some college backfield!

and howie long said he was the most gifted athlete he had ever seen. big name ex-pros would show up early to watch him take batting practice.

3 things stick in my mind about him.

1) the straight away bomb he hit to start the all star game in 89 ( i think) maybe 90

2) knocking bozworth into the back of the end zone

3) climbing the wall in left field after making that running catch. ran right up the wall.

We will never know for sure.....I saw him in the Atlanta airport during his Auburn years; even then he was in unbelievable shape.

All of his personal problems aside...OJ Simpson was one of the all time greats...1st to rush for 2000 yds...done in 14 game season. And i believe he ran a leg on the 1968 olympic team...440 relay...won a gold medal...someone might want check on that one. If not the olympic team he ran in the trials...
