February ended on a positive note for Coalition forces as it was the lowest casualty month with the lowest casualty rate since the war began. Compared with January, U.S. fatalities dropped over 50% to 20. It was over 75% less fatalities than November which had 82 deaths. Overall, 549 U.S. have lost their lives, 456 if which were due to hostile fire.

I know, it's all good over there these days -- they've failed again to smooth over petty differences and get a draft constitution going, but they're pretty sure they will soon.

Hundreds of U.S. soldiers have died, but not so bad the last few weeks really. Not so many you'd notice if you weren't a quartermaster or a family member or some sort of collateral type like that.

Still no valid reason for us to have gone to war in the first place, but that's okay too -- because the vast majority of Americans just don't give a shit, as long as it makes for good news and helps them sleep better at night, and lying to ourselves about doing good deeds is a surefire sedative.

Let the good times roll.

Phaed...I said improving news not perfect.

By the way at least talks are continuing, a member of the Irqy council said the one word we are starting to understand is "compromise".

Another phrase that came out was "failure is not an option" when refering to Iraqy constitution.

Judge I meant Bush hating liberals where good news equels bad news...and they are alive and well unfortunatley. I said some liberals by the way.

One guy I use to hate with all my is Al Franken.but at least he went and entertained the troops with out politcal bullshit in his show,I respect him a lot for that.
Michael Moore should die from a massive heart attack, though.

Pat,fair enough.Although I do like Michael Moore.Met him once,at that time he didn't take himself very seriously. That may have changed with his success.

That's great news....Especially since my Dad is on his way over to Iraq today.

Patriot is right though. (unfortunately) Bush bashing liberals want as many people to die over there as possible so they have a bigger case against the war.

It's sad but true.

x - OK....Maybe they don't want people to die, but.....the more people that die the more bitching you are going to hear from the left about how Bush is killing our soldiers, and killing thousands of innocent people, blah, blah, blah....

It only strengthens their position of being anti-war, anti-military. THAT IS A FACT!

Anti-war is not bad at all....Nobody wants to go to war, but sometimes you have to.

Has anyone in this forum been in a fight? If you try that position with a hostile person, it only draws aggression. I would like to avoid fighting but I'm not going to allow some drunk a$$hole to feel up my girlfriend. I guess he was offended that I called him on his error. Had we not been outside, I would have had to fight him and 2 bouncers as well as leave before the cops arrive.

That's one instance out of many. If I ever get into a disagreement with someone on this forum, I might try the "Let's be friends" approach. I must be getting into too many fights because I can't see how that strategy works.

Wanna know what else is a fact, Kman? To date, there has been no evidence, the concrete proof kind, that is, to prove that the pro-war stance had any merit whatsoever.

Liberals didn't want to see anybody die in this mess ... your conservative viewpoint seems to be that as long as the dying slows at around the 12-months of fighting mark, then all is well in Oz.

How about all the resolutions that were passed after the Gulf War in '91?

xpanda - I feel like a broken record..... Once again, Saddam had 12 years and 17 resolutions to abide by. The UN's last resolution said if you do not inform us where these chemical/biological weapons are there will be serious consequences.

Conservatives Serious Consequences = Removal from power.

Liberal Serious Consequences = Slap on the hand and please don't do it again.
