They knew they could let this play out because they could reverse any damage caused by the Biden Administration.

They also knew Biden had no power over the Military.

And in the meantime, Trump and his new cabinet members were working closely with the Military and preparing for the "return".

The only Military who actually knows of the devolution plan and what's really going on are the highest ranking members working closely with Trump."
