PAY ATTENTIONPretty much the entire Mexican financial system was down yesterday!
Transfers, deposits, and most major banking systems were either completely offline or barely functioning.
But that’s not all.
Microsoft, Telmex, Telcel, Santander, Citibanamex, Gmail, WhatsApp, all down or hanging on by a thread.
And here’s where it gets even more strange...
The SPID system, Mexico’s blockchain-based instant banking transaction network, was also down.
And why is this so significant?
Because SPID is what keeps interbank transfers running smoothly.
Without it, banks can’t move money, period!
That’s why this blackout is hitting so hard.
And let's not forget the European interbank transfer system Target2 was also down Thursday.
