We have emailed all of the room reservation codes out to everyone who applied for a room for Rx Bash 2008 at The Golden Nugget.

The email contains a six digit numerical/alphabetical code that is your room reservation code. With it you can call The Golden Nugget Reservation Desk at 1-800-846-5336 (not free outside the US) to verify your reservations.

Should any of you find out you have reservations for nights you do not want or need nights that you do not now have a reservation for . You need to email me at wilheim@therx.com and CC person19481950@yahoo.com and include what nights you need as opposed to what you have according to the email we sent and by double checking by calling The Golden Nugget Reservation Desk.

Anyone who reserved a room and for some reason did not receive an email from either myself or sportsavant - please email me immediately at the addresses above and include your poster name, the name you are going to reserve your room with (the one on the credit card you are using) and the nights you need a room for.

By now everyone should know that the nights of Friday Aug. 15th and Saturday Aug. 16th are complements of The Rx.com. Extra nights are available to all Bash attendees at a rate of $59 plus tax per night.

If you think anything is wrong with your reservation do not hesitate to email me and explain the problem.

Please remember if you have to cancel you must do so 72 hours in advance or no later than 6PM Pacific time on Wednesday August 13th. To cancel simply email wilheim at person19481950@yahoo.com and CC Sportsvant at sportsavant@therx.com. Failure to cancel at least 72 hours in advance and not show up for the Bash will cause your credit card to be charged for one nights room rate of $59 + applicable taxes.

Thanks, wilheim..

Regarding who is coming and who is not I am not posting any lists.

We have a Buffett Dinner ordered with enough food to feed 150 people. Will there be that many there, only time will tell.

is that # down from years past or no?<!-- / message -->

It is up from last year because of the double bash but less than the 2006 Bash at the Imperial Palace. The 2006 Bash was huge due to some monster give aways like a $25,000 blackjack hand and more.

had asked someone before about that, was it just mgt. decision not to do blackjack hands again? thought those were great fun and great icebreaker activity<!-- / message -->

Unfortunately it can be a very expensive promotion when compared to the ultimate return or ROI. We had a a 25k, a 10K 1 5K and 5 1K and 10 $500 hands to give away in 2006. What really hurt was the $25k and the $10K hands both busted while 8 of 10 of the $500 hands won.

To be honest the days of huge contests like those are probably over as far as the Bashes are concerned. These days we have a budget and try to make the most of it...There is also the travel factor being more expensive, along with the since 2006 legal setbacks the industry has seen.

These and several other factors have made our Bash more of our way of saying thank you to you posters than anything else. We spend a lot of money on them and are happy to see our loyal posters enjoy themselves but quite frankly the funds could be used in other ways that would proabably net an at least break even return.

However, The Rx believe it or not is not all about pinching pennies and is continuing to carry on the tradition. This will be my 4th Bash as head mod and I am looking forward to seeing old aquaintences and meeting new ones but in the end for me it is a lot of work. I have found the work is worth it though because I really believe these events add a personal touch to an anonymous business. Putting a face to a poster name is always enjoyable, we have some great guys that post here and many will be attending Rx Bash 2008 next weekend.

We have a bunch of funded accounts to raffle off, most likely some cash, a bunch of Rx polos and tees to give away, plus our very close friend Porno Paul has already shipped a large consignment of giveaways for you posters. Including Sinsation Pictures hats, tees and of course some hot dvd flicks for anyone who enjoys that type of home entertaintment. Some are the new Blu-Ray high definition discs (I will try to save you a couple).

The buffett promises to be delicious and the poker tournament fun as usual. Plus plenty of interaction in the Nugget sportsbook.

I think it was best to get rid off this as the house will put up their best dealer in this spot.

I remember these two sisters who worked at the local card room both were dealers in Vegas and they showed me how the look at top card and if you needed that top card they would deal you the second card and vice versa.

They also showed me how if the players were drunk and all busted on last hand they pick up the cards just as they were dealt and deal them right back to you.......LOL

I don't play blackjack my self..........Well rarely and not for much!

BadCo,
I can assure you that the blackjack hands were all on the up and up as I personally supervised them.

It was just some unfortunate luck as the Rx posters actually won well over 60% of the hands (as Wil explained in his post), but the hands they lost were the bigger money hands. The guy dealing them was an Elvis impersonator that could barely count to twenty-one much less deal seconds from a shoe.
