Absolutely nothing is going right in the U.S. today. Everyone I speak with agrees that the harbingers for the future in the united states have never been worse. In all seriousness, can any democrat here think of any president in the last few decades that was worse?

Lots of things are going right in the US today. Unemployment is low, the economy is just starting to get some momentum going, Iraq is settling down, Iran is heating up, and the Palastinians are starting to realize that suicide attacks on Israel hurt their goals. What is reported in the news is hardly a good measure of what is happening around the world. Bad news sells.

How can you determine the ineptitude of a poster after only 15 posts?

He's the worst since Nixon for sure, and he's still worse than Nixon too. Frankly I never thought Reagan and Bush I were all that awful. Dubya is an embarrassment and if anyone dares to go public with this opinion they are the recipient of an all-out character assassination. Pretty sickening. This Richard Clarke was a tremendous public servant under 3 Republican Admins and 1 Dem Admin, but now that he dares to criticize the President he is an untrustworthy vindictive hack. What a joke.

Bush is the worst I have seen in terms of his caustic attitude towards the American people coupled with an IQ that is eclipsed by most blue collar occupations. He has thrown the U.s. into a HORRIble DEFICIT, and our world relations have never been worse. If he has another 4 years in office, it will be END OF DAYS for many people including gamblers because he will have to look for money streams from outside of the country to help compensate for his myriad blunders.

And remember, our President #1 doesn't read the papers and #2 doesn't do nuance. He's downright scary really. Actually seems like he'd be a perfectly nice guy to have as a buddy, but this whole President job thing is really his bag.

Kennedy-tough man,no scrupples-was a good president and probaly would have been a great one if he would have lived longer.
Johnson-May have been a very good president if he hadn't been saddled with the war
Nixon,Very effective, would have been considered with the best if not for watergate.Totally void of a concience.Makes for a great leader.
Ford-pretty much of a joke.
Carter-extremly inelligent,Too big of a heart to be a good president.Could not make the tough descions.
Regan-effective due to a very strong cabinet. Not the brightest of men.And at the end did not have all odf his faculties.Still very effective.
George Sr.-Did a decent job.Would probably have been reelected if he did not align himself with the extreme right.I believe in my heart,he was a moderate and would have continued to be if re-elected.He aligned himself with the wrong people and lost the woman vote and hence the election.
Clinton-another who was void of scrupples and hence an effective President.
Jr-not very bright.seems to be lead around by his cabinet who seem to be power hungry and very dangerous.Time will tell what his term/terms will yield.
My slant on the presidency-to begin with you have to be a certain breed of person to even want the job to begin with. You need more balls than conscience. You have to be calculated, cold blooded and ruthless to be effective.Just my take.
So most effective in my lifetime? Nixon followed by Clinton.
Least-Ford,followed by Carter.

Judge, I enjoyed your post, but to say the G.W. Bush is not bright is absolutely ludicrous.

FDR. He started this whole snowball of piglets suckling on the big sow that is the U.S. Government.

its too bad herbert hoover didnt realize in 1928 that having 90% in the wealth of the country in the hands of 10% of the population would lead to a serious problem. fdr was forced into extreme measures because of the extreme measures that he inherited. when the lowest social classes cant afford the bare essentials when they work 10 hours a day, it is time for a revolution. thank you fdr for saving this country.

even up to a few days ago i thought this election would be close, but now it looks like jr will be just like his father; i guess the lesson is condescension will only take you so far

i wish everyone could follow the example of tom cruise in vanilla sky and "open your eyes"

i used to love puppet shows when i was a kid, i just didnt think i would have to sit thru 4 years of a presidency where the puppet master was never revealed until it was too late.

i have a fairly large wager than george will win in november and in a sense i cant lose. if george wins i will collect a tidy sum and hopefully move on to greener pastures while the country suffers. if he loses, i have faith that the very soul of this country can be salvaged, and i can accept the monetary loss.

believe what you want, i just wish he was next to me so i could spit on him and be called an enemey of the state in the country i love

Lyndon Johnson may have been the worst president in history...he escalated the liberals war in vietnam...Though they would like you to think it was Nixons war.
LBJ also was the father of outrageous entitlement programs like welfare.

Any president who has several upper echelon staff and cabinet members quit, and then turn and corroborate the same story of that president being a bumbling fool, must truly be the only president of below average intellect. Was there any other president in history who was a C student in a Masters program at an Ivy League school? Or, was there any other president who was such a miserable business man in all of history? I mean… being a Texan could never be more embarrassing.

In my Lifetime, LBJ was the worstPresident - firsat he got us into Vietnam, and then he killed the economy for the next twenty years with his "Great Society"

Jimmy Carter and a very left leaning Democrat congress continued the bad economy with their anti-business government - I brought my present house in 1982 at 15 7/8% - that was the Carter Economy.

Yup, LBJ and Carter were the worst Presidents in my lifetime.

Bush Sr - "Read my Lips" and Tricky Dicky come in at number 3 and 4 for the worst.

Reagan was the best - and as much as it hurts to say it, Clinton comes in a distant number 2 - he may have lied under oath, but the Reagan economy continued to flourish under hisd administration because he made the right moves.
