WASHINGTON, D.C. — "Planned Parenthood's latest sexually saturated commercial, a demeaning ad targeted at young people, defies any and all sense of decency," said Jim Sedlak, executive director of American Life League's STOPP International. "The organization's shameless promotion of its attempts to influence teenagers with a morally reprehensible TV spot is just another reason why all taxpayer funding of the group should be yanked immediately."
A Planned Parenthood affiliate web site states the ad is scheduled to air this week on MTV. The spot depicts a young woman working with power tools who later hops into bed with a man, selects items from a Planned Parenthood "safe sex" tool case and exclaims, "Nice tool!"
"The ad is beyond disgusting," said Sedlak. "The entire scenario is wrought with sexual innuendo regarding the connection between power tools and sexual performance. It completely objectifies the sexual act. Perhaps most offensive is the clear inference that the young lady's father approves of her sexual escapades."
According to its latest annual report, Planned Parenthood took in more than $265 million in federal, state and local tax funding in the last fiscal year, amounting to approximately one-third of the organization's income. "The ridiculous part of all this is the fact that we are paying for this filth," said Sedlak. Sedlak is calling on all government officials to stop taxpayer money from going to this organization at once. "We urge all lawmakers to view this Planned Parenthood commercial to see what the organization is really all about," said Sedlak. "Surely they will begin to understand that this group relentlessly offends parents, scandalizes young people and kills preborn children all on our dime."

Then we can get all these teens pregnant and they can just go right back to planned parenthood and have that abortion:pucking:, commit that murder.

Wouldn't it better that impressionable teens who are going to have sex use a condom rather than nothing? Condoms are better than Abortions wouldn't you agree?

I would like you hear your opinion rather than that of a press release by the American Life League

There's a time and a place for such things - MTV is watched by millions of young kids who see that stuff and think it's ok - sex isn't a toy, and impressionable children aren't mature enough to handle it without suffering some serious issues - stds and pregnancy being chief among them - seems to me that planned parenthood is recruiting customers.

Have you watched MTV? Many of the so called tween acts are much worse in sexual inuendo than anything from that TV comercial. If a parent is OK with there kids watching 50-cent who glorifies gang Violence and Pimpin, they are probably ok with a well meaning group trying to inform teens of ways to protect themselves. If parents are offended by this Ad they should pay more attention to the rest of the shows their kids watch inbetween comercials.

You're probably right - My kids are all adults and I don't watch any of that garbage, so I don't know.

I have an extreme dislike for planned parenthood - like pbs, they get get a special place at the public trough - and it pisses me off that my tax $ goes to such an anti-family left wing group.

Ideally teens will wait until they are in a loving long term relationship and always use protection but I was a dumb teenager and most teenagers I know are pretty dumb full of raging hormones, so it doesn't work like that, it's better to give them all the options and hope the parents raised them right.
The funding thing is a whole different ball of wax, I don't know if they are anti family, they just provide education and help to those that don't have the same definition of a family. Left wing? do they also teach communism?

Against all odds, BBF and BB are actually both right, and in the same thread, nonetheless. The odds have to be up there with Mega Millions.

Regardless, thank you gentlemen for exposing PP as the pro-genocide, immoral, scumbag organisation that it is.

I dont get it

safe sex - bad
Sex ed - bad
abortion - bad
teen pregnancy resulting from teen sex as long as they didnt get it from TV - perfectly ok, but still frowned on

Rob,
The PP commercials are glorifying teen sex.

That's the issue here.

No it's not, it's advocating safe sex.

selects items from a Planned Parenthood "safe sex" tool case and exclaims, "Nice tool!"

would you rather it said, selects items from a Planned Parenthood "Raw dog" tool case and exclaims, "Nice tool!"

Safe sex is taught in sex ed something else the far right are against.

I read your thread title and felt sure you were talking a lot of the posts on this forum. That would really be worrying. But as for sexual inuendo and worrying about teenagers taking a blase attitude to sex because of this ad seems naive to me.

Rob, as is always the case with these nihilistic skumbag organizations, they are being funded with taxes. This is the reason for the controversy and why bblight is rightfully outraged. Remove the govt funding for Planned Parenthood and this group's reach and influence would be on par with your local Hari Krishna on the street corner handing out flyers.

That is fine to be against it being paid for by tax payers that makes more sense. It actually doesnt matter to me.

Misinterupting a commercial's meaning to fit an agenda is just bad.

Besides, the commercial airs on MTV where the girls are half naked and rubbing against men with gold chains and reporters are in skimpy bikinis at the beach. It is on par with anything else as 'suggestive' on that channel.

A parent with something against this wouldnt be letting their child watch MTV to begin with. It's not like it's going to be on during NBC prime time sitcoms.

So you don't think "nice tool" is a play on words?

Lander.

I agree, it is a play on words. And most wont think what I do, I take it as meaning safe sex is a good tool. But the message is there in text 'safe sex'. They see that. I think they [PP] are doing what they can to appeal to a crowd of young people who think they are cooler than everyone no matter what.

Ads like these are a drop in the bucket. Teens both in my day and now are saturated with sex talk from their peers. Commercials like this pale in comparison to one's peers at this age when it comes to being exposed to sexuality.

Warning - Graphic Content

This may be a little Riske but I never got a BJ until I was 20 but I had Anal many many times with catholic girls because they didn't want to lose their virginity by having regular intercourse. We didn't have MTV and Much Music was more tame then. We learned from Guys and girls a couple years older than us. Most parents sex ed consists of "DON"T DO IT" I didn't even get that much from my parents. I am surprised I didn't get some girl pregnant in High School, Lucky actually, better education would have given me an option of where to learn about sex rather than some mis-informed older teenagers.
