I will be 35 in a week and started working as soon as I graduated law school and worked about 30 hours a week during college. Work will always be there, if you have enough money to do it, go to europe and back pack around staying in hostels and experience something. Truthfully, I wish I had done something like that either during summers of college, after college or after law school. There is plenty of time for you to work in the future, but you may not have the time to do something like that again. And in a few years the 2 months you did nothing bouncing around europe will be irrelevant to your job, work history and employment, just as those 2 months would be if you were employed.

Before going, put your resume together, post it and send it out, check your email while you are gone and set shit up for your return.

If you plan to sit on your ass doing nothing, at least find a cash job or figure out some way to make yourself more marketable. regarding post 60, it is always easier to find a job when you have a job, so I would take the $38k job and continue to look for a better one.
