I know i know....it has its pros and cons....lol

The storm is thru here and we're still here. My subdivision is a disaster. right now in Baton Rouge there is power in 1500 out of 300K? customers.. Heavy damage to the grid system. They say about 50% will be on in the next 8 days and the rest in the next 8 weeks!!
Here where i live somehow the main drag thru town and up to the interstate has power so EVERY SOB within 20 miles of here is HERE!! every place that is open has police in the parking lot, the streets are like gridlock. people waiting hours in gas lines......I told a guy this morning its like we woke up and had Carter in office again..
My subdivision is of course 40 yr old houses and its tore the fuck up....every street looks like a jungle and id say 1 out every 6 houses has a tree on it. The power here will be off for a long time as there are lines to individual houses down everywhere..Funny thing is i just brought in a generator , fired it up and ill be damned if the cable internet IS working!!!!! no food, elec, phone or ice cold rock stars but dammit i got internet!!!!!!!!:aktion033

My daughters taking pics and hopefully ill get to post some at some point...still trying to get the u tube thing to work but no success sending them from my phone...

More later...........

Good to hear that's it not as bad as it could have been.

That's pretty bizarre about the cable internet.

Good to hear PPP. Sounds a little like it was back when Rita rolled through my area. Only difference would be that we were not even allowed back into the area for 4 days after that hurricane. It took around 13 days for electricity at that time.

Well if Coushatta is open tomorrow night, then that is where I will be. Or I will definitely be there on Saturday.

They have a 20 hour live play promotion going on for September. Only the first 200 players to reach that level qualify for the $40,000 freeroll in Oct. I am not much for freerolls, but I will be in the top 200 for that one.

Thx guys...Yea most of the damage was to trees as the winds were around 60mph steady and gusts to 91mph.....so things like roads, bridges and major infrastructure are pretty good shape...its peoples houses that are beat up bad....Hell if u a roofer jump in your truck and head this way , there will be work for years! In my moms subdivision i couldnt find a roof that wasnt missing 1/4 of its shingles. they were saying 8-10" more rain today which could have caused flooding probs but its been clear since about 9am this morning...

I blame all of my problems on Obama come to think of it, thanks for reminding me!

PPP, I will tell you what. I will pay your entry fee to the $240 tournament on Saturday at Coushatta if you can make it. Just give me 1/2 of what you win. So if you nothing better to do and need a break from the madness, then come on over

One problem that you will have is that no restaurant will have food for around 1 week even AFTER they get electricity again. It took 3 weeks for fast food restaurants to have full menus after Rita hit our area

The power at the 1's right here by my house were only out maybe 12-14 hours so im sure after a big spike in cases of Tomain tonight they'll be back to just a handful a week in no time

I got 30 gallons of gas here in Houston but if you make it this far so does all the stations. I may trade you some gas for some f-ing rain. my grass is drying up and quick. Plus the wife said no need to water the storm comming and guess what not a drop of rain. It is funny how that damn internet can stay up in the wierdest times and that crap will go out and there is nothing happening.
