Two soldiers who are currently serving in Afghanistan have released a song honoring those who have fallen.
First Lieutenant Andrew Yacovone and First Lieutenant Justin Wright are based at Fort Carson in Colorado and formed a band together called Interstate 10.
They released a touching new song called I'm Gonna Miss You on YouTube to remember those who have died while serving their country.

The idea for the song came back in 2013 before the two even met, but after their unit lost soldiers during their first deployment, they say the song took on a whole new meaning

The song is a stirring five-minute love letter that honors the men and women who gave their lives, and those currently serving in the U.S. military.
Released on Friday, the video has been viewed more than 230,000 times.
The words 'To remember those who fought for our freedom' are seen in the music video spliced between footage of active duty servicemen and women.
The soldiers said they intend to donate 100 per cent of their iTunes sales of the single to The Children of the Fallen Patriots Foundation.
The charity is a non-profit organization that provides scholarships, supplemental grants and educational counselling to children whose parents were killed in the line of duty.

Andrew and Justin will reunite at Bagram Airfield in the next few weeks to complete their deployment together

Andrew and Justin wrote on their Facebook page: 'Please help us spread awareness and remind the public to remember this Memorial Day. For that we salute you, all the way from Afghanistan.'
First Lt. Yacovone and First Lt. Wright met on their first day of infantry basic training for officers in 2014.
'I called out to the crowd and asked if anyone played guitar,' Yacovone told ABC News. 'Lo and behold, Justin was standing right next to me and he was like, "Heck yeah, I play guitar".'
That meeting led to an all-night music session and the release of their first song Hometown Hero, also recorded in Afghanistan.
With this latest song, Lt. Yacovone says he began writing the song before he met Lt. Wright, but after three soldiers from their battalion died, the pair had a reason to complete the tribute.

'Our freedom came at a price.' Wright said. 'We all are in debt to those families' whose soldiers were taken in wars so that we can have a BBQ on the weekend, go to the beach, vacation, travel without being in danger.'

'From then on the song took new meaning for us and we knew we had a debt to pay and a mission for this song,' Wright told the Tallahassee Democrat.
'Our freedom came at a price. A price we are still paying today,' said Wright. 'We all are in debt to those families whose soldiers were taken in wars so that we can have a BBQ on the weekend, go to the beach, vacation, travel without being in danger.'
Now on their second tour to Afghanistan, the pair are based 300 miles apart from one another - Wright is currently in Bagram Airfield near Kabul, while Yacovone is in Kandahar - so they had to use Skype to get it finished.
'Most of our music is written on deployment,' Wright told ABC News. 'You think of the restaurant where you want to eat at, and you think of where you'll take a girlfriend on a date - what beaches you will go to, which mountain you are going to climb.
'You think of all these clear pictures of a dream life that most people don't live, but you know you're going to because you can do anything after you've been to Afghanistan for nine months.'
The pair state in the video: 'Memorial Day is about remembering the ones we lost and supporting their loved ones.
'It's about celebrating the lives they lived. Thanking them for allowing us the opportunity to come home safe, and most of all, thanking them for a second chance to hug our loved ones.'

Thanks SB. If you didn't start threads such as these I doubt anybody would. This is your wheelhouse. Leave the Trump and Hillary memes to the peasants here.
