2 Team Parlay and betting $1000 which I think will get me 3 to 1?

Advice and thoughts please.

Thanks!

Aussie, my only advice is don't bet alot of money on preseason football. If you've seen it in years before, you'll see it is very sloppy, careless, many mistakes and half the players are on the bench, thus anything can happen.

Not sure if the 1000 is alot for you or not, but it isnt exactly change either. /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Good luck buddy.

The best advice I can give is don't bet.If you must, than don't bet Parlays. You will probably get back 2.6-1.Unlees your shop actually pays 3-1 which is rare.

Slim and Judge are both right. Preseason is too unpredictable and parlays are pretty much considered sucker bets. Personally I consider anything over a 2 teamer a lottery ticket.

BTW Slim,
I definately don't mean any offense, but you seem to me like a smart guy from your posts and I thought you might appreciate the tip. And it's a pet peeve of mine so I can't help it, cuz I see you do it often. A lot are two words. Like I say no offense intended in any way, just one of the irritating evils of having been an English teacher.

Definitely stay away from the parlays, there is a reason that they are called 'sucker bets'.

Also, pre-season is risky. Just look at Saturday's Skins - 49ers game which had a ridiculous 38-7 score. Talk about that total going over, and the line closed at 3 if I remember correctly.

In short, if you want to play, good luck and have fun, but try to play smart. Keep to the straight plays and avoid pre-season.

Anyone who has tried to succeed at handicapping has learned that parlays won't work.

However, a common theme is that NFL handicappers consider the preseason a great time to make money.

I guess they might say that in preperation for asking you to pay for their worthless preseason picks!

But just because the games are haphazard, wouldn't necessarily make them harder to handicap. It would seem logical that one might be able to USE that fact to their advantage.

I am far from a wise guy though. Just hope to grow up and be one some day...............

There's more to this game than just trying to beat the odds. You'd be better off buying some brewskies and watching a no-sweat game than betting on it.

You could always become a scalper. Scalpers don't sweat the game and make a small percentage on their money most days.

More or less true. Was/SF game was an open shot for middling. I took the skins while they were still getting the points(+2½). Then they pushed the line flip, and I could have taken the niners +3. Didn't do it though. Result: the move was dead right and I kept the cash.

Once again, odds are irrelevant, when it comes to the real number.

2 Team 6 Point Teaser with Football.

Ofcourse, after carefully analyzing the corresponding teams.
