If you like crime or forensics the show "First 48" is about as good as it gets. It's on A&E and about as close to the real deal as you can get.

I watch a lot of these crime shows and this is the cream of the crop.

Yeah, I've watched it for awhile but you never know about the people that view this place.

Please respond to threads here in the Offshore Forum in a civil fashion.

This is a perfectly innocent thread that shouldn't have to be hijacked by rude remarks.

Please post civilly or not at all.

Thank you, wilheim.

PS. FWIW. I enjoy the show myself as it still airs here in Cost Rica.

Thank you sir. I watched 2 hours last night. What amazes me is the reasons people will give after taking another's life. Twenty-year-old kid kills a guy last night over $80 worth of dope. The guy was even running away.

Quality show, it's not appointment TV for me, (Law and Order: Criminal Intent is) but every episode of First 48 I have seen has been very interesting.

Guy the other day went home with a hooker and paid her $20. She went in the house with the money and her friend told her there's no way she's bringing some strange dude in the house. The friend told the guy to leave. The guy goes to the car, brings back a pistol and fires two rounds into the front door of the house.

Two days later they bring him in for questioning and he tells them very innocently what he's done. After they told him a person was dead he broke down crying. This kid had no idea anyone had died. He didn't even watch the news. It was one of the very few times I've seen on the show where a person actually felt guilty. Kid was crying and hit his head on the table and was seriously pissed at himself.

Good show and frequently it's set in Dallas TX, my home for 37 years

Saw one a couple weeks ago where they identified the killer, but he was gone from home. His credit card shows up at a North Dallas hotel (Plano Parkway/Preston Rd) which I stayed at last time I was in town.

Plus, the general exterior shots as they travel around town are often familiar

been fan for a few years, love that show.

i have a question for any others that live in some of the cities that they show.
When they(the camera crew) are with a detective and the narrator is saying they are on their way to a crime scene. They are always using background shots to i guess give the viewer a feel of the location and surrounding of the city.
Here's the thing they have done a few in Louisville and when i've watched they will say what area they are riding to and the background shots never match that part of town. Even if the detective was in another part of town and was heading to the other side of town the background shots don't make sense , because he would be zig-zagging all over the county to be at the locations they show.

So do any of you that watch and live in those cities notice that ?

I have a hard time watching these type of shows, especially shows like Cops. The best series ever imo was The Shield, damn, I loved that show.
