I have been playing Sit n Go's for years, but recently it seems to just be an all in fest. I try to stay away from pushing all in as much as possible. I like to atleast see a flop.

Anymore though it seems that all people do is go all in. It almost isn't any fun anymore.

So i raised my stakes today hoping to find some more people that wanted to PLAY CARDS and not just go all in - WRONG.

How high do you have to go to get to players that don't go all in immediately everytime they get pocket 10's or better? Or AK, or even pocket 4's?

What are your strategies for this play? Do you drop to their level and try to just make a call where you have a small edge on the hand? Or do you just keep leaving your raises on the table and letting them take it with their all ins?

Take advantage of them. Amateur players go all in all the time. All it takes is for you to have a great hand once to beat them and knock them out of the tourney or whatever you're playing.

Sure you'll lose sometimes if they really do have a great hand, but if it's some people you know go all in all the time you'll beat them more often than not if you are picking your spots right.

Trust me, the game will become fun again when you're taking all their money.

Get sharkscope and use their hud program. You'll learn a lot real quick about who is shoving/calling preflop and who you should and shouldn't get involved in hands with early on.

SNG poker has involved over the past few years and nowadays the profitable way to play is to push it late in the SNG. You can't see flops with a 2k stack and BB's of 200. You need to be pushing. If you have a 7k stack and 2 others have like a 2k stack each, it is profitable to be pushing a WIDE range of hands because the blinds are going to be huge.

If you want to counter this go play in the cash games or MTT's. MTT's are getting fatter by the day and cash games continue to be the optimal way to make money as a poker player.

I am doing quite well playing, but I am still a bit frustrated.

What do you consider a great hand preflop?
Where do you draw the line? AA, KK, and QQ only? I don't really think AK is good enough to call blind against these guys because often times they are playing some small retarded pair too large - ex; 66

I think that may be where I need to go - Cash games. I do think that the majority of poor players play in the sit n go's though.

Oh yea no doubt. Its filled with many guys that come home from work and want to play a "tournament" they dont have the time, skill, or patience to pull off a MTT so they play donk and go's that they win every so often to keep them coming back. I consider all SNG's crapshoots under the $100 level.

People say poker is about surrounding yourself with the worst players possible. I say bullshit. If I sit down with 9 players who don't know anything other then how to play its going to be a crapshoot. I play with my 2 brothers who suck and sometimes can't beat them just because so often they don't know what there doing so how am I supposed to. I'd rather be with 9 players who think they can play, like the guys who go to poker clubs and like to pretend their in rounders. Those are the true fishies. Guys that can understand the plays I'm making and lay down top pair. Guys that I am in full control of. Not just random brainless donks. I feel like these guys are mostly in the cash games.

If your looking for a profitable range to call preflop all-ins in these donk and gos I think your looking for AK, AQ, AA, KK, QQ, JJ, 1010, 99, 88.

All these calls are probably profitable vs donks random pushes. However, you have to go with your read. You have to realize that calling with A9 can be profitable vs some players and calling with AQ can be unprofitable against some. It all depends on the situation. Hell i've called shoves vs extreme retard spewing donks with a hand as weak as A2 and been ahead. GL
