In one of my first posts in this topic, I said this:

"Mind you, I'm not asking he be banned"

Keep that in mind - I actually do have a pretty thick skin, but it's not thick enough for the comment Jimbo dropped last night. The only point is that (and I appreciate your time spent in replying, Patrick) no one should have a free pass when they cross the line - if you don't think he crossed the line with what he said, I'll be surprised, but that's the only issue at stake for me. Personally, I've found a few of his posts funny but it doesn't matter if I did or not - that isn't the point. The point is, when BTJ is doing his normal goofing and spoofing, why on earth would I care? And I haven't in the past, either, except getting on him in a few recent posts for dragging the Lenny shit around like a humpback - gets really old the 114th time you read the same shit.

But the central rule, or so I thought, was that you attack the posts, not the poster, and his attack on clevfan through her son finally got to me, especially when it became apparent nothing would be done about it. Ban him? No, but warn him that the next time he posts crap like that he will be banned for a week, during which time I'm sure BTJ will scoot off to another forum and be quite comfortable there. He comes back, does it again, ban him for another week. It'll get REALLY old for him, since he does seem to like the attention (nothing wrong in that, all of us do to some degree), and maybe he'll drop that level of attack.

Point is, no one should get a free pass here with those kind of comments, IMHO. If this is not true, then fine, the next time BTJ posts something else like that, I get a free pass to post what I'd like in response.

Pat, good post

...I have always thought BEANO was a complete joke, ANYONE that takes what he says seriously really needs to get there head examined. JAZZ I totally see your point with "the Kid" post he made and agree that was in HORRID but thats BEANO, His posts are ALL JOKES, though I agree, some are in bad taste and we will deal with that on a "each post" basis ..but the guy is a fruitloop...I have fun reading his jokes...

Now you've gone and pissed off beantownjim, sent him running back to his "ROOTS" at madjacks. To each his own, but my day gets a little brighter when I see a post by btj. Nothing wrong with a few laughs!

Thanks, Dante. I personally don't buy that ALL of his posts are satire, not the ones where he attacks people in this forum. That should be the line. If he wants to spew the rambling rants and raves knocking every ethnicity under the sun, doesn't bother me in the least - but when he gets personal like that, that's the problem area.

Ah, well, more football today - I'd better get some more coffee and start humping.

lol, vvv! Seems like then it should be poor old BTJ to grow a thick skin if criticism makes him run away.

Jazz - again to me I agree with you but the issue is not what happens when someone "crosses a line", but what is the line and where is it? I can tell you it is not the same for everyone. Fair to you is unfair to many others. LOL, just the way it is.

Thanks for the feedback on it though, looks like he may have moved on for a while anyway. Not that it's a long term solution but I guess that is where it is right now.

Little Iraqi kids have no running water, have just spent a 100 degree summer with no fans or Air Conditioning, havent had food thanks to the U.S. imposed U.N. sactions for the last decade. They have no electricity and dont feel safe in their own country. Now this guy wants to cry about BTJ's posts. If this is the worst thing you face in a day, you have it too easy man.

I am not blaming the U.S.A. I am just saying that if BTJ's posts are really bothering someone bad enough that they starts a thread about it. That person's life is way too easy.

Danny: son, you can make that kind of comparison every ****ing day with almost every ****ing thing. However, I don't live my life in a foxhole or a war zone or a lifeboat, I live it in the U.S.A., and I don't wear black clothes, put ashes on my head and walk around mumbling how horrible the rest of the world has it, and I don't cry and moan that I have no right to express my opinion about anything except a life and death subject. I am not even CLOSE to agreeing with you on your point, which is basically saying that somehow something is wrong if I'm comfortable enough in my life to discuss BTJ. By that logic, what the hell are you doing in a sportsbook forum posting such an opinion anyway - shouldn't you be out actively trying to save the world, and never post here again? After all, one has to admit that compared to the life of a child in Iraq, you must have it pretty damn easy if you can afford to have a computer and the frivolous free time to post here, which I notice you've done 1,449 times since October 11, 2001. I'm sure I can dig back through your past posts and find some I can apply your comments to, but then, my life is not THAT easy

Rebel: indeed I was.

Scorpion: that the extent of your argument, you're going to kick my ass??? For making my opinion known? Lol, I guess NOW I'll have to scurry away and stop.
icon_rolleyes.gif

Actually, as a matter a fact, I did manage to get my opinion known on this, have never and still haven't called for BTJ's banning, BTJ still posts here, and I haven't continued to push the point in a while - others have responded - and I'm so ****ing bored with this topic right now, because I actually DO have better things to do with my time, I think I'll go have some coffee and read the morning paper.

Now let's hold hands and sing 'Kum Ba Yah', and everything will be right with the world:

Kum ba yah, my lord, Kum ba yah!
Kum ba yah, my lord, Kum ba yah!
Kum ba yah, my lord, Kum ba yah.
O Lord, Kum ba yah

Someone's crying, Lord, Kum ba yah!
Someone's crying, Lord, Kum ba yah!
Someone's crying, Lord, Kum ba yah!
O Lord, Kum ba yah

Someone's singing, Lord, Kum ba yah!
Someone's singing, Lord, Kum ba yah!
Someone's singing, Lord, Kum ba yah!
O Lord, Kum ba yah

Someone's praying, Lord, Kum ba yah!
Someone's praying, Lord, Kum ba yah!
Someone's praying, Lord, Kum ba yah!
O Lord, Kum ba yah

There! I know it made ME feel better!
