Very good post. I have worked in politics for pretty much my entire life. I know firsthand it is parisan, petty and more or less professional wrestling gone wild. I've noticed in last ten years the hate has grown to a level I've never seen. Both sides.
I see many on here doing just what you said. Going to google and just posting anti obama articles. I've said on occasion you could google anything to find your desired result.
I think rather then fight all the nonsense I need to pick and choose a little bit better. Thx for the advice.
I am a bleeding heart liberal living in Oklahoma. One of if not the most republican state in the country. We only have one newspaper. And it's republican. So where I come from people are pretty much born from republican families, or are heavily influenced by the politics around them. I come from a pretty tough blue collar democratic family. But it's just poilitics. Half of my close friends are republicans. Everybody has their points of view about things. One thing about politics, it's just like religion. Nobody, not even people who belong to the same party or church, are in 100% agreement with each other about their own beliefs. So you can't take it too seriously. You also can't take it too personally because if the conservative posters in this forum are anything like some of my conservative friends, they are probably much different in real life than the way you picture them in a political forum. That's why I try to stay away as much as I can from personal attacks of other posters. The bully approach never works on internet forums.

Since you seem to respect what I say I'll just tell you this -- Words Matter! Reread the OP and tell me how much friendlier it would appear had you simply omitted, "the element I am dealing with."
You're asking people for their opinion on whether you should remain here right after bashing them. It's too late to take it back. The post wasn't necessary because had you just stepped away for 2 days you'd know you were the only person able to answer your question.
What you're really showing here is your frustration that you can't get certain people to agree with you. Well hello and welcome to the Human Condition!

Thx for the comments. However I must correct you. I'm not frustrated that I can't get people to agree with me. I realized after my first post that wasn't gonna happen. I'm frustrated at the level of hate for anything obama. That kind of thinking bothers me. I feel the need to point it out. That was the element I was referring to.
I have taken breaks from here. A few days in vegas, also a requested few days off from another poster. I was gonna do it again and I thought the vote would be overwhelmingly against me. Hasn't been that way so far.
