HAHA, nice try MrCleo! The only real place that we can verify you CONVENIENTLY didnt gamble this last week!

Doberman, not sure why I put you on the list above. I know that you gamble, I only put you there because I felt that you had the money to play. But I was trying to actually pick out guys who actually place some bets

to be honest, if you are on this site anyway every day, and you dont take advantage of a +EV opportunity which this contest is since Betjam is adding an extra 20%, well then id have to say that although you may be gambler, perhaps you are not the wisest?

Unless you figure that your NFL handicapping skills are so poor that you remove the advantage making it -EV?

this is a general statement, not directed at you personally, but it makes you wonder, dont it?

:think2:

OK. But wise or unwise has absolutely zero to do with my question. Hopefully PO69 will address it. Thanks.

what are the prizes for this thing?

CLEO,

the $300 pick 4 contest is a contest where for each entry of $300, $360 goes into the prize pool.

So if we have say 10 people who pay $300 each, the total prize pool is $3600.

After we know the number of entries, and the total amount of cash, we then determine the payouts.

The important part to note is that 120% of what is taken in is given back to the players, thats right, not 100% but an extra 20% making it an amazing contest.

______________________________

The NCAAF pick 6 is the same concept however it is only $100

____________________________________

The Pick 4 $1000 side contest is for the big boys, there is no added 20% but 100% of all that is taken in will be given back out.

**** For all contests funds are held at Betjamaica ***

So posting up in a Contest means you are a Gambler ?? and if Not, you don't Gamble ??

Shit :ohno:I have been doing the wrong thing for 35 years now.

My statement takes nothing away from the FUN of a Contest, but the Statement from PO69 is just Stupid

Can he meet you at the weekly poker tournament near his house to settle up every week? Otherwise he can't pay and it's YOUR fault.

Funny, I was so caught up reading that post and you "Newlywedding it", that's a new posting term:

Newlywedding it
to Newlywed --- excessively using capital letters, exclamation points of other punctucuation, or bold or big font to emphasize your point. Can also include repetition of key phrases. Not to be confused with "Hollywooding it"

ex. After the touchdown catch, T.O. was hollywooding it in the end zone.
PO69 called out other posters, but we couldn't take his post seriously because he was newlywedding it.

Anyway, I missed the "any random Indian guy" comment. Nice. Stay classy, Ron Burgundy.

What you're saying makes some sense, but in other ways is completely ridiculous. I'm guessing most, including myself, don't have and don't plan on getting an account at betjam. That eliminates you from the contest right there, doesn't it? Most others don't see it as a smart investment either. Why go through an entire contest against, I'm just guessing a number here, 50-100 different people where your chances of profiting are very slim, even if you hit at a 60% clip, when you can just bet the games yourself and make good money.

The contests IMO are more for people that care about having bragging rights over other posters.

are you kidding??? just like you say you have bet more than me at betjam i have certainly bet more than you at 5dimes. kiddie games down the street YOU RUN ALONG and enjoy the contest. by the way, most of my soccer wagers would've been too much for me to bet at betjam

How about if you think the other competitors in the pool are very good cappers? Does it still make it a wise choice to enter when you may or many not feel you are the cream of the crop?

I don't think it'd be wise for joe schmoe to enter the contest if he had to compete against people that tend to dominate the sport in terms of handicapping

I already addressed that in my reply, but let me add further analysis here.

In a pick 4 type contest, it is such a small amount of plays that it is really a crapshoot.... you could have a monkey pick your plays, or throw darts, and it would still be an overall +EV due to the added 20%. This argument may hold water if the contest was thousands of plays over say a baseball season, but not when only 60 games or so are being picked.

Your +EV may go down a little, agreed, but not enough to reduce the +EV.
