I don't think I'd leave either if I was as far inland as Baton Rouge(Beautiful city, BTW).
New Orleans is an entirely different story......NOT where you want to be in a hurricane.

I live just outside of Baton Rouge, but we're expecting to receive winds of
80 + mph, heavy rain and flooding, tornadoes and lightning for a long period of time.
I have a camp down at the coast (Venice, LA) and it withstood Katrina, but Gustav appears to be bigger and badder.
We'll see.
