The primetime game on ABC has favored the favorite this year. USC against Ohio State, Georgia against Arizona State, Florida against Miami.

I'm inclined to belief the favorite continues to dominate Saturday Night Football on ABC.

The only unfortunate part of this game is we have to listen to Musberger all game

The Illini have looked horrible this year and are a very tough read. They have the talent to compete in this game so I would have a hard time giving up 2 TD's to a team that showed last year they could get a tough W on the road (OSU game last year). Regardless, they haven't proven they can stop the run and their secondary gives up a lot over the middle. The one thing to remember though is they get back a few starters for this game and could start to turn the corner given they are a young team. I would lean the Illini because I think their offense will score some points and they should improve on defense.

PSU all the way.
THey are ready to prove not only to the big 10 but the rest of football they have the skills to compete in the spot light.

The are one of my big plays this week 10 units.

I think Illinois is missing a lot of identity on offense after losing Mendenhall and I don't see them recovering yet, sans a surprise showing of the "passing" Juice against a horrible Missouri secondary.

Shouldn't be the same case this year, I think I like the Nittany Lions here.

I normally play underdogs, but i can't make a case for the Illini. Penn State will blow them out. Keep in mind that Penn State was favored at Illinois last season by 3 points, so if the game had taken place in Happy Valley, PSU probably would have been about a 9-point favorite over the Illini last season. The gap has definitely widened between these teams this year, so -14 seems very reasonable to me. I like Penn State by about 20. Just don't think the Illini have the D to stop Penn State on offense.

Last year, Illinois was able to pull the big upset at Ohio State, but it was mainly because they were facing a marginal OSU offense. When Illinois has faced world class offenses like Mizzou and SC they have not matched up well. I'm not saying PSU's offense is quite that good yet, but it is very strong and they should have little trouble getting into the 30s in this contest.

I went to school at Illinois so I might seem a little partial to them but Penn St. has not played anybody that has any talent. We started off playing the second best team in the nation and if we would have had a couple of breaks we would have beat them. Missouri can pass all over anybody they play. Our defense is ALOT better than what they are getting credit for. I look for our secondary to have a huge day.

On a side note they have had 2 weeks to prepare for this Penn St. team. I like Illinois to cover and I REALLY like the over.

31-28 Illinois wins

What does the public know about Illinois? They got killed by Missouri. I never even saw highights of their last 2 games and I watch ESPN 24 hours a day.

What do we know about Penn St? They are the best team ever assembled per every sports analyst. But who have they played? Beating Oreg St is nothing. This team is majorly overrated!!

I am not trying to make this out to be bigger than it already is. And I may be completely wrong here but I see Illinois taking this game down to the wire.

Penn St wins by 3 touchdown. White out in happy valley and penn st jumps all over them. The juice will throw 3 picks.

No one will be watching this mess since Alabama-Georgia will be on ESPN at the same time. Couldn't the Big-10 network just throw this disaster of a game on their morning board?

The problem with answering this question is that you have to wait until AFTER the game to answer it. Penn wins and the answer is No. Ill wins and the answer is Yes. Traps exist in the eye of the beholder.

I don't see this as a trap game. This Penn State team is very, very good and have said it since week one, after watching them in each and every one of their games, they are a legit BCS national championship contender team. Their line play has been phonemonal, on defense, their linebackers are quick and smart, their secondary i believe hasnt been tested and will not be tested this weekend, and plus they have #7 Scrittino, who is pretty damn good in his own right. This team has beat teams with just solid play, no real big plays. Their offense has made mistakes and their defense gets it back for them. Penn State rolls by 20.

You'll be one of the only few then, enjoy.

Illinois is awful and it was an insult that 'SC had to play them in the Rose Bowl. Illinois has a retard for a coach who doesn't have the first idea about X's and O's, their stadium and fans are a joke, and the only reason they're mentioned at all is because they have a black, "athletic" QB who the media loves to shove down our throats simply because he's "promising" and has a hip-hop-sounding nickname. Unfortunately, he couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with a football and could never play his position at the next level. I hope PSU beats them by 50 so we never have to hear about this program again, which would allow them to resume their proper role of conference doormat all the sooner.

To me this line is ridiculous. If Penn St played any good team in their first four the line would be more where it should be, and that's at around -6. Illinois is not a GREAT team, but they can hang with PSU. People are getting way too into this team, especially with comments that they are the best in the Big 10. Ohio St will thrash this team.

I'm not on it but Illinois +14 looks like an amazing play to me. Juice will move the ball on Penn St and JoePa will get out-coached.
