why has the line moved ?
Well it opened at -1.5 which is nuts. Minnesota was a 17 point fav and we have every bit as much talent as them (beat them at home). I guess Vegas just doesnt think these big schools give a shit about the NIT. However I think this is an important tourney for the Illini who in my opinion underperformed this year. They need to pretend this is basically what amounts to a "spring training" game to get better for what hopefully is a much improved season next year. One would think some of these guys on the team need to showcase that they deserve some minutes next year considering we have three good transfers and a good Freshman coming on board.
I like Illinois also but what is the motivation? I know they are playing well for a month, but you don't go to a Big 10 school to play at Boston U on the road in the NIT. Any letdown from the Terriers losing a NCAA bid will be diminished knowing they have a home game vs a big 10 team and on national tv. I can guarantee Boston will be ready to play, not sure i can say Illinois will. The line sure seems to want Illinois money.
