If you would be terribly upset or financially hurt by the loss of your monies on account in offshore Sportbooks, then you should be worried now. I do not care if it is Pinnacle or Cris, never invest monies in any book that you cannot afford to lose or be stolen from you.

Best of luck

Geeez....I thought Biff was back posting as the General. Reread your post...it says you should be worried NOW! Good basic advice though...too many people get lazy and park their money in these joints like they were a bank or credit union.

My apologies.

The analogy is to not wait for the worry. Worry now and make sure your bills are ok. Good point on the bank account as well. If ya aint betting, may as well draw some interest somewhere.

It is good advice in good and bad times don't we all agree? Doesn't matter how safe a place is, as long as all your money is in places that transfer to Neteller or to other books you use you can quickly adjust your balances as needed. No reason to give any book more than a reasonable amount of funds. Since nothing is certain or insured in this world I think this is sound advice for people who have six figure bankrolls on down to people playing $20 a game.

General,

I think what you are saying is true but has little to do with the safety of the books. The reason most people send money to a sportsbook is to gamble so the advice boils down to "don't gamble with money you can't afford to lose" which of course is one of the ten commandments of sports betting.

By adding this dimension of safety of funds you are implying that this is a significant portion of overall risk, which is not true if one sticks with the solid shops. Do you not agree?

sure only gamble with what you can afford.

solid advise.

bit to add this or stolen from you in the same sentence as pinnacle or Cris that is a very poor post.

worst post of the year award. Like the Slammies!

I want to see criminal convictions of sportbook owners who steal, then I will feel some safety and believe in it. I feel safe at many books, but based on a diff theory than feeling safe in a bomb shelter. Kinda strange maybe.

Try,

Sorry to insult anyone.

no matter what book, no matter how strong their reputation, something could happen offshore at anytime. Political unstablility, U.S. pressure on offshore governments, even an earthquake or other natural diasters are more apt to happen in the Latin American geographical region than in say England or Australia. If a diaster of any sort might cause very serious financial difficulty at home, then don't risk the money anywhere. At least thats how I read the post.
