Anyone care to elaborate on this "shady business"? I honestly have no clue about hores racing and I can't for the life of me figure out why they would pull the horse out if it wasn't hurt.
Besides the fact the Trainer of I'll have another Drug O'neil, um I mean Doug O'neil
is looking at 60 Days from Cali.
He has a lot of horses that have broken down. Not talking about horses that did Bad to begin with, I'm talking about Horses that did well, Won races....
This is a Sign of Drug use.
There are some that think when they hear that a Trainer is a "Juicer" they only give drugs that will take a Horse to the next level.
But what Most people Don't understand is, it will Mask an Injury as well.
Meaning a horse could have a small injury, be slightly lame. But the Drug just like a person taking a Pain Pill, you won't Feel anything.
At the same time the injury is getting worst. Because there really is no time trying to get the Horse Better. They rather race the Horse and get whatever Money they can, at the time he's still racing.......thus the Horse, in time will break down.
In most cases, they just Hope that they don't break down. Pick up those Purse Checks while they can.
Sad to say, but Horse Racing is a very Dirty Sport.
I can say this, because that is one of the reasons I got out of it.
I know plenty of Trainers, owners and Vets. I even met the owner of I'll have Another... Because he Started in the Harness business.
Rumor back then... he had friends in Canada that would supply the Drugs.
Seen talk about complaint on why he Picked Drug O'neil as his Trainer.
He had Juicer Trainers in the Harness Business as well...
So don't blame it all on the Trainers... It's the Owners that are bad too.
Just My 2 cents on the subject
