I heard the horse is going to speak at the press conference. He's going to reveal what a shady character his trainer is.

Press conference currently being held on TVG.

O'Neill stated that I'll Have Another had showed signs in the last two days of a slight swelling in the front right tendon. He stated it subsided this morning but after the workout, they scanned the tendon and it showed the horse is suffering from tendonitis. He could be ready to run again in 3 to 6 months but the owners have decided to retire him and put him out to stud.

I guess it just proved too difficult to milkshake in the stakes quarantine barn. It was still a good story though. An $11,000 horse with 3 million in earnings, and a stud career/syndication to come.

Those who took advantage of fixed odds pricing for the Belmont will reap huge benefits from the scratch, unfortunately at the sports expense

Although something tells me I'll Have Another would have nosed out a win, in reality his true odds given the 12 panels he had to run from the #10 hole should have been closer to 5/2 than 3/5.

I disagree about being closer to 5/2. He ran done Bodemiester in a very fast a impressive race. 3rd place horse in the Preakness "Creative Cause" was beaten close to 10 lenghts.

Before the Preakness everybody was touting Bode to get an easier pace, plus shorter distance, shorter stretch, plus Baffert expected Bodemiester to improve off Kentucky Derby. Guess what all of the above happened and I'll have Another still ran down a very fast Bodemiester.

Kentucky Derby and Preakness wins were very impressive. 5/2 odds would be a crazy overlay.

The fact that he ran down Bodemeister is the reason why 5/2 should be closer odds. How much do you think this horse has left in his tank? I'm betting he isn't quite the same horse that won the kentucky Derby. His tendon problems tend to point that out.

Anyone care to elaborate on this "shady business"? I honestly have no clue about hores racing and I can't for the life of me figure out why they would pull the horse out if it wasn't hurt.

It seems to be that even if his horse was to win the triple crown, there was a definite possibilty that the trainer is going to get banned for illegal doping.

I have Street Life at fixed odds of 12-1 which I did before the scratch. I hope it works out for me.

Besides the fact the Trainer of I'll have another Drug O'neil, um I mean Doug O'neil
is looking at 60 Days from Cali.
He has a lot of horses that have broken down. Not talking about horses that did Bad to begin with, I'm talking about Horses that did well, Won races....

This is a Sign of Drug use.

There are some that think when they hear that a Trainer is a "Juicer" they only give drugs that will take a Horse to the next level.
But what Most people Don't understand is, it will Mask an Injury as well.

Meaning a horse could have a small injury, be slightly lame. But the Drug just like a person taking a Pain Pill, you won't Feel anything.
At the same time the injury is getting worst. Because there really is no time trying to get the Horse Better. They rather race the Horse and get whatever Money they can, at the time he's still racing.......thus the Horse, in time will break down.

In most cases, they just Hope that they don't break down. Pick up those Purse Checks while they can.

Sad to say, but Horse Racing is a very Dirty Sport.
I can say this, because that is one of the reasons I got out of it.
I know plenty of Trainers, owners and Vets. I even met the owner of I'll have Another... Because he Started in the Harness business.

Rumor back then... he had friends in Canada that would supply the Drugs.

Seen talk about complaint on why he Picked Drug O'neil as his Trainer.
He had Juicer Trainers in the Harness Business as well...

So don't blame it all on the Trainers... It's the Owners that are bad too.

Just My 2 cents on the subject

I just want to add that I'm not just Picking on O'neil here...

Because out of the 11 Horses in the Belmont, only one trainer in the Belmont has a clean record and that's Kelly Breen.

So 10 out of the 11 Trainers have been Fined or caught in some way for Drugs !
