PRAGUE -- Comcast SportsNet in the U.S. will televise live both semifinals of the 2015 IIHF Men's World Championship from O2 Arena today. Faceoff for the Canada-Czech Republic game is set for 9:15 a.m. ET, while the U.S.-Russia contest will begin at 1:15 p.m.
Both games will also be streamed live on NBC Sports Live Extra and the U.S.-Russia game will be aired on a same day delayed basis at 11 p.m. ET on NBCSN.

USA faded in the 3rd, too much from Russia
Canada has looked fantastic all tournament. That's a deep team, especially offensively . Smith was solid today . Burns has been a horse at the back . How about 19 yr old Ekblad ?

USA looked good with their amateurs up until close to the end. USA has a bright future. How is Steve Moses not playing in the NHL?
Americans don't like taking bronze, getting a medal for coming in third isn't how we're wired. Take the Czechs for bronze on home Ice is the best play tomorrow. I'm also taking Canada against the over rated Russians.

hardly. Team USA had over 70% pros . In addition the non-pros , young kids Team USA brain trust chose all have international hockey experience including Vessey, Matteau,Eichel.
actually that was a very decent team they put together, good mix . Keep in mind this is the first medal for USA since 2004.
Canada has always had difficulty at this tournament - NHL's players that don't make the playoffs often decline- bodies worn, or mentally fried. One yr, GM Fletcher had 51 players decline to play for Canada. Ugh. This year was different, and seeing Sidney hop on board was extra cool
speaking of the 1st ballot Hall of Famer, Sidney's resume is stunning...

Guys have played in different events and sometimes you don't get the luck. I feel pretty fortunate to be a part of this and we could do it as a group."

The pros that played were almost all 4th liners in the NHL, I think they only had one Olympian on the team. None of USA's good players played in the tourny, and historically they don't for some reason. The Goalie was playing in college a couple of weeks ago and Eichel hasn't been drafted yet. USA's best player was a KHL player. Canada, Russia, Sweden, Finland, Czech, were pretty stacked with all star talent in comparison. It was good experience for the young guys though. There were a lot of pros but they're guys that are either very green or barely making it in the NHL.
Can't wait for that, even though there will only be 8 teams. All of USA's best players will be playing in that, I just hope they still get to play in the olympics. It'd suck if there's no pros in the Olympics now that we can finally bet on it in Vegas.
It it was fantastic job by USA hockey especially including Eichel - hopefully he's a leader . USA desperately needs one aka Roenick , Chelios.

What about Brown, only the second American Captain to win a Cup, and might be the the only one to lead a team for multiple Cups? I put Kane above Roenick in talent, and he's getting there with leadership, and Parise's already a pretty good leader. Eichel's going to be good, Buffalo thinks they got screwed but I think they didn't.
They still had almost half Amateurs on their team and had zero chance of beating Canada with that team.

PRAGUE - Russia's hockey team may end up paying for its Canadian anthem snub.
Russian news agency TASS reported the Russian team is facing sanctions after players left the ice before O Canada. The Canadians crushed Russia 6-1 in Sunday's gold-medal game, and most of the Russians quickly departed for the dressing room, a breach of the sport's etiquette.
"Once we arrive back home after the world championships we will look into this question and we will get in touch with those in charge at the Russian Ice Hockey Federation," IIHF president Rene Fasel said in the statement to TASS.
"The IIHF has its own protocol and some sort of punishment will be handed down."
According to TASS, Alexander Ovechkin, Evgeni Malkin, Viktor Tikhonov and Dmitry Kulikov were among the few players who remained on the ice for the anthem.
Russia's general manager Andrey Safronov called the incident "a shame."
"Nothing forced our team to leave the ice and it was simply an organizational mistake and it was our mistake and not the one of the organizers," Safronov told TASS.
"We are feeling very ashamed and uncomfortable now and on the behalf of the national team I bow to the Canadians," Safronov said. "I am lost for words and can say only that there was nothing of a premeditated nature in the incident."
Canada's victory was its first at the world tournament since 2007.

7 of their players were non NHLers, the Goalie plays in college, and I bet if I named some of their NHL players, very few here will have heard of them, or could name what team they're on. This wasn't USA's A team B team or even CDEF team. There were amateurs on the team so stating that Amateurs were playing against pro's (all stars for that matter) is a true statement. Maybe even an understatement since they weren't just playing against pros, they were playing against Olympians and All stars. Trying to make this out as a good USA team isn't true. They were well coached. And Roenick is the most over rated USA player of all time, lot of talk. Brown and Parise are far better leaders, that would never show up to training camp fat and out of shape.
