Most bands start with an equal split deal.

Most bands start with minimal money in some guys basement as friends and make a verbal agreement or it is assumed everyone gets equal.

I would be surprised if U2 does not still split things equally. Obviously that does not include non U2 endorsements that any one member might do on his own, but I mean concerts, U2 endorsements, cds, etc.

Almost always when a front man tries to get greedy the band breaks up - see Guns N Roses where rather than keep making 100s of millions, Axl sued for the GNR trademark...

Now if a band is formed with one famous member, obviously the split will not be equal.

I bet Flea and Les Claypool got their equal cut.

Flea deserves 50% of the revenue. Kedis is a great front man but Flea is the heart & soul.

BTW does Claypool still play?

Thought so. A bassist I was fortunate to see in person was John Entwistle. Great bassist who passed away.

Michael Anthony.....Pound those quarter notes on the E string baby and watch the money roll in! This guys true instrument was his voice, his background vocals are unbelievable.

Don't get me started with Bono. I love the guy as a singer, but nothing pisses me off more than when a guy grabs a guitar, throws it around his shoulder, and doesn't play a single friggin' note. Guitars are supposed to be played dammit, they aren't a prop.
