who would you take with the #1 pick?

Hache got me thinking.
(Since there are only 5 spots I picked the 3 I'd pick & TJ Ford)

Here's a mock draft I found at nbadraft.net
1. Lebron James (HS) PG
2. Darko Millicic (Serbia) PF
3. Carmelo Anthony (Syracuse) SF
4. Chris Bosh (G. Tech) PF
5. TJ Ford (Texas) PG
6. Chris Kaman (C. Mich) C
7. Jarvis Hayes (Georgia) SG
8. Maciej Lampe (Poland) PF
9. Mike Sweetney (G'town) PF
10. Mickael Pietrus (France) PG
11. Luke Ridnour (Oregon) PG
12. Leandringo Barbosa (Brazil) PG
13. Dwayne Wade (Marq) SG

anyone who wins the #1 is taking Lebron I wonder what the prop would be on that.. -50000 ?

I'm sorry but the answer to your question is fairly obvious and its a joke to consider anyone else but Lebron going #1.

PS- why on earth is Dwayne Wade on your choice of 3 ? are you him ?!

Sadly I see Lebron going to LA or Denver.

I think Wade will have as much impact as anyone in this draft ...

I think he's a well rounded played & has the triple double potential that Grant Hill had.

Kennedy,
I know Lebron is going #1, but that's because any GM passing up on this kid will be lynched after all the hype ... I don't think he's the best player in the draft ... I think he's the third best.

Lander I don`t see Wade doing anything special in the NBA...We will have to remember this thread 15 years fom now...I have it archived in case you forget...ALOT of number ones don`t make an impact EVER! Especially these High Scoolers..I think James will be the real deal though...

Lebron will be #1 for trading purposes if nothing else....but even that is a stretch.

I'm so sick of hearing about him around here, I hope the the Nuggets don't get him!!!!

If the Knicks were to get the #1 pick they would choose Anthony. Personally I'd choose Darko Millicic as I feel he is the most polished of all the players listed & can have an immediate impact in the NBA which I don't think James will have.

I haven't seen the foreign guys who usually exceed expectations, but the ONLY college player who is anything special is Wade. As for LeBron, the "hype" is actually understatement. His team took on all comers and went undefeated! 3 Ohio state titles! 3 MVP titles in All-star games!!! He goes #1, and forget about a trade, no way. The NBA would have taken him #1 after his Sophmore year, 100% for certain. Every pro scout said it at the time. When Carmello Anthony was in High School no one thought he was on the same planet as LeBron, and they were right. Anthony should have stayed in school instead of riding the bench in the NBA.

must pick lebron..kid sees the floor like kobe and is long like McGrady..certain players have floor vision which allows them 2 anticipate player movement around them..i think this kid has that potential..also he was head and heels over his age competition, which means his development need to be taken to the next level..as for anthony he should stay in school..i believe at his position he needs to be more mature physically to play at the next level..the only problem is i have been wrong before..in the mid 80s i went to see mark jackson..thought he would never last in the nba..i am not sayin, i an just sayin.....

Another lottery pick bites the dust...

See Md.junior power forward and now Clipper bench rider Chris Wilcox, if he stayed at Md. could have easily won it all and Wilcox probably goes top 2-3 and more imortant improves on his game...Instead he may never see his full potential now...

Wilcox college greatness consisted of about 15 games...

I have 2 words that explain why every one of these kids should go to college & stay for the entire 4 years ..

"Tim Duncan"

.. his technique is superior to anyone else his size - that is why he dominates. He learned the game in school and is the best pro because of that.

These are ghetto kids who never had shit. Then they have adults around them telling them how many millions of dollars they will get if they declare for the NBA draft. Lebron will never get any higher than this even if he went to college for a year or four.. whats the point ? why not learn and develop in the NBA and speed up the curve ? he would have been stupid to goto college for a year.. it would have only hurt his draft status..either by playing poorly or getting hurt. he did what we all would do if we were blessed to be in his position and that is to take the loot NOW. It is too bad he has an annoying mother who will only cause problems for him. Lebron is a single ghetto mothers dream. she hasn't worked for the last 2 years. who has been paying her rent ? who got the hummer ? you dont think she had anything to do with him trying to go pro after his junior year ? I live around Cleveland and while I think Lebron is great and SHOULD go number one.. I hope the Cavs don't win the lottery. as long as the Devil doesn't fix it so the Knicks or Chicago wins it, I'll be happy.

These are never fun...I have a similar one someone will likely bump at some point in the baseball season about the Marlins being a Triple A team.

*I did not bump this thread.

Funny to see everyone lynching the Pistons for taking Darko. Nobody knew the guy had very little heart.

i'd have to pick lebron. as much as i like how wade is playing, lebron has done more with less on his team. also, i haven't seen anyone that unstoppable when he has his mind set on getting to the rim in a long time.

Check the date on the original post in this thread. This discussion actually took place before that year's draft.
