I can't believe people would actually contemplate giving up on potential history to be one of numerous teams to win a title. In 50 years will anyone outside of indiana remember that the colts won this years super bowl? I know i wont.

But if they go undefeated they will be remembered forever. To me its a no brainer, go for history!

Seems to me this came up a year or 2 back in some other situation where a team had clinched or something and announced they were going to rest their starters....The NFL told them HELL NO YOUR NOT! there is some type of league rule against wholsale benching of starters for even part of a game , at least thats the way i recall it...

What was the quote? No one remembers who won the superbowl in 1986(or insert another year here), but everyone knows the Dolphins went undefeated in 1972.

Play them.

Madden made the comment last Monday Night. And I agree totally. Everyone can say what the want about the '72 Dolphins, but they went undefeated, unlike some other great teams. If you have the chance, GO FOR IT.:suomi:
