If You Think The Spurs Are The Only Team In The West That Can Knock The Lakers Out Then Consider This Bet

First of all, I'm not suggesting, only pointing this out & the final decision relies on solely on yourself.

But, most of us believe the Lakers will once again be representing the West in the NBA Finals.

Most also believe that the one team that could somehow knock LA out & take their place in the Finals in representing the West is the San Antonio Spurs.

Neither team is a given of course, but most would agree the odds are in favor of one of those teams getting through, more than likely LA.

Anyhow, below is a wager (wagers) you may want to consider.

You could lay 1Unit on the Spurs at +475 for every 3Units you place on the Lakers at -140.

If the Lakers merely get through the West and make it into the Finals, you will have earned 2Units Profit since you will deduct the other unit for the 1Unit loss on the Spurs not making.

If somehow the Spurs get through and the Lakers do not, you will have earned +475 on the 1Unit win and only lose -420 on the 3Unit loss on the Lakers and still profit +0.55 Units on the Spurs making it to the Finals. So, not much profit there, but it's simply a cover wager anynow.

Once again, this should only be played at your own risk, but I personally see the Lakers once again in the Finals and also think the only team with a chance to knock them off being the Spurs. I'm sure most NBA bettors & followers will agree.

The Lakers have next to no toughness and generally don't impress me. Its Kobe's greatness mixed in with some decent talent, no real spark in their play.

Sure they are the best team in the West, but to be such a huge favorite?...I don't agree with the odds at all.

I do not have the answer, but I'd be curious to see what kind of series price a -140 "to win the conference" has at round 1, 2, and 3 (obviously prices vary for rds 2 and 3 because of opponenet and perception of the -140 team).

I'd be willing to bet (not much cause i'm completely clueless to how this usually works out...rarely bet series prices) that when all is said and done, rolling over the same money on the 3 serier prices pays better than -140 or -210.

I really don't see it being Lakers-Celts again. Sure the odds are that at least one of those teams will be there, but I really would not be shocked to see Spurs-Cavs or something like that. I'm anticipating that the Cavs will have homecourt, just on the fact that they are playing better ball than the Celtics right now and dont have the same injury problems, and if there is a team who could knock off Lakers with homecourt it would be San Antonio

Yes agree with this 100%, however him playing the bench 'more' doesn't change the fact that the bench has completely lost chemistry and flow since LO has moved into the starting unit..

Ariza in particular is playing a complete different game than he was in the 1st half of the season... Farmar has seemingly lost touch with reality in half his outings out there and Sasha has played just like you'd expect from a role player who recieved $15 mill after a good season in a contract year - bad.

The lakers will continue to win but just saying there is certainly value in taking big dogs against them

Make no mistake.. IMO barring major injury there is no way the Lakers do not make it out of the west.. This team is just too hungry and too motivated after last year not to pwn the shit out of any team (including the celtics) that crosses its path
