Just remember they were losing to Ohio in the 4th quarter of last years game before they played at USC. They squeaked by in that game. And were they looking ahead?
Maybe.
But then they went ahead and put up a whopping 3 points vs USC. 3 points. If they were looking ahead, they must have been blind.
USC -5 and -6 for me. Locked in when it opened.
I don't disagree with the play....however, you cannot compare one year to the next....Ohio St had Boeckman at QB, Beanie at RB and 3 different O-Lineman, not to mention 2 NFL WR's last year...
On defense they had arguablly one of the best if not THE best) MLB in the country in Lauranitis and the same thing at CB with Jenkins. Two completely different teams...very senior-laden vs this year being very young.
Was Ohio St looking ahead last week? Yes and no. It is impossible to not focus on a team who's offense your program has only faced once in the past 30 years....I do agree that Ohio St started looking ahead once they were up 29-14 and were a blown 4th down conversion away from blowing Navy out of the water (bad pun I know)...
The outcome of tomorrow's game in C-bus has NOTHING to do with either team who may or may have not been looking ahead, but it has EVERYTHING to do with major descrepancies in both talent and coaching...
USC 41
Ohio St 13
