As this is completely hypnothetical and you had to choose one...

Would you rather be known only as a Christian or an American

I voted American because at least I could move and get away from it. If I were dumb enough to be a christian than that would haunt me anywhere I'd go.

Just curious, after reading a report that Iranian Jews are refusing large cash incentives to move to Israel, saying they are proud Iranians.

Just Curious how Christians in the US would feel.

Gee that was a tough one for me[rolleyes].

KB,

The Iranian Jews will say they want to stay in Iran or they'll be de-balled and de-clitted. But you should check with eek just to make sure. She's the authority on all Mideast issues. As well as the rest of the world.

I voted Christian.
America is just more in tune with my Christian values than any place on earth.

Well I was born here and I'm still here, so  I hope that answers that.

As far as comparisons go Israel and Americas values such as democracy, rule of law, women's rights and a ton of others all dovetail. So there's really no moral issue for me. You should have said Judaism or America if you wanted to get tougher on me :tongue2: I'm agnostic but I still value my Jewish identity and our struggle for survival.

I voted Christian. America is a great place to live for the most part. But my loyalty's are always to the One who has known me before the foundations of the world.

For me it's also a choice between two positives.

America is the best place to live, otherwise I wouldn't be here. The government sucks but then again don't they all?

Still, the teachings of Christ are far wider reaching and more important than anything a country can represent.

Then there are guys like Eek for whom a third option such as being executed by a firing squad would be a serious alternative LOL.

1776 american not 2008 american. I believe in freedom and this fractional free society we live in is barley worth it.

PoliticoPubster PP and I often see through different lenses, but in this vein I'm pretty much sharing a boat seat with a fellow friend of Unity.

Countries and geographic borders have come and gone (and will come and go in my future years), but universal principles are eternal.
