Actually I lost no money on the game as I took the day off from the NBA. I was just making the point based on principal. I think the people who lost already know they lost, no need to remind them.

I'm not trying to be an ass here, but I just looked at the closing lines on the lines page and this is A PERFECT EXAMPLE OF WHY SHOPPING IS A MUST

The closers go from 186.5 to 188, so theoretically NOBODY that bought this one late should have lost.

I have to agree with David Mathews....I actually had the Spurs +4 and also Under 187...You just can't take your daily ups or downs personally...Whatever posts I see everyday are usually to inform or to incite, depending on who is reading and who is posting...Wouldn't you agree?

We don't have to read the thread and we shouldn't be taking any of this chit seriously anyway.....

Chill.....gthtgp!

bigboy, no offense but I feel just the opposite. If you could have a good natured persona who's razzing everyone (himself included) as the "official scorekeeper" then why not give it entertainment value? Shit bring back Don Rickles for the job

I'm the Scorekeeper here, which means I'm gonna rate you jerky's all the way dowwwn. You couldn't pick a winner if it was in your nose. Your mamma picks better than you. How 'bout that Ginobli buzzer shot, eh hockey puck? You hate to see that.

The point is I don't think we should be too sensitive in this biz...or we're dead men walking.

i don't think it's being too sensitive i think it's showing a little class to all those people who lost there bet on this one

the point everyone is overlooking here is he is an employee here and thats why i think it was wrong for him to be posting this in the first place because it sets a bad precidence to the forum and more importantly the owner of the site.

you guys are crybabies. This thread wasn't making light of those who lost. The poster was informing us about a strange ending to an NBA game. You guys should know by now that when you win or lose you move on. Anyone who can let a post like this bother you needs to rethink whether or not you should be betting at all. If it hurts to be reminded about a loss then you don't belong in this game.

no, i didn't bet the game at all and i just don't see why somebody was doing this job as scorekeeper would do something like this now maybe if this original post was posted a little differently ya then i could justify it but the fact of the matter is it was not.

shrink, i would really like to hear your thoughts on this situation though.

BBD,
I think you're over-reacting for a few reasons.

A. Losing is part of the game. If you can't take the losses then this is the wrong game.

B. There was a HUGE lesson to be learned - a late shopper would have won no matter what side he bet.

C. I really don't see how you interperted it as "rubbing it in".

Dan,
Are you close with TRK?
I don't really know you, but it seems, at least to me, that your ranting on and on about this to Shrink in order to have the Scorekeeper repremanded. I hope I'm wrong, but if it now this would be an awfully childish antic, no?

are you guys serious? Tell me you're joking, right? I agree that this post should never have been made and was not right.. But what the hell is the difference between this remark by Journeyman, and some poster coming in after a running back breaks a run on the last play of the game for a TD and comes in here and says.. yesssssssss, how sweeeeeeeeeeeet, I just won the over.. woooooooohooooo. I can't tell you how many times people come in here celebrating their lucky win, meanwhile, not realizing that there are 50% of the posters who just got it up the ass because of that play. I hate when people do this and that is why you will never see me coming in here and rubbing it in on a lucky win, that might have cost someone a very bad beat. It's just not right. Posters should just gamble and keep everything to themselves.

But bottom line is there is NO difference between this post, and any other post of someone who just stole a win and comes in here and gloats. It should be stopped completely..

no, i'm really not good freinds (like buddy buddy type) with trk first of all but, the fact of the matter still remains here it was not right posting this at all i think it showed bad judgement on the SK's fault which in turn makes the site owner look bad i mean come on guys you have to see my point here think about it if you were running a bussiness would you want one of your employees to make you look like a fool and be honest here.

Dan,
I guess I see your point, but honestly, IMO there are worst threads. I'm not saying that makes it right or wrong, rather just, well, not-surprising.

Maybe I'm stuck on this whole bit about nobody should have lost this one given the resources available. IMO it would have been different if it closed at 186 and a last second garbage bucket put it over.

Either way, I don't see the big deal

lander, i will say this for this new scorekeeper he's no trk but he can be when he gets a little bit more experiance under his belt and hopefully in the future he doesn't do this sorta thing again because he is new at doing this sorta thing and it takes time to learn from past mistakes in order to gain experiance at doing this kind of job.

i'm not trying to be an asswhole here but i am trying to be fair about this matter i just don't think this kind of a post was good to make from an employees standpoint because it reflects back onto the owner of this site and what kind of bussiness practices he condones and thats why i wanted the shrinks opinion on that matter because even though he sold this site to somebody i want to know what he would condone this sorta of behavior when he did own this site.

I'd go the other way. If I were Shrink I'd want The Heckler for the scorekeeper...

Show me what you got losers - who's gonna bankrupt Mr. Bookie this weekend, eh? - Your picks are so bad there must be a God, how else can you manage an 0-4 miracle everyday - I'm just thankin' the man in the sky I get to see these beauties before they tip-off - talk about a Ginobli sandwich - for a minute there I had to put my travel agent on hold - I'm off to Hawaii jerky's, but don't worry - I'll score your 20-stars from my own 5-star - get my jet!
