id put it into high yield divy stocks, some oil/nat gas plays, reits, and just good overall companies.

if anyone wants to take a flyer into a silver play check out SVM its really really beaten down, very low cost producer, the lowest in fact. they have authorized 10% share buyback of their float this year bc management thinks the share price is undervalued. if you get a pop to anything over $20 an oz i think you could see the stock approach ~$2 a share. wouldnt put all my money into it but at its current price it doesnt take a lot to pick up a 1000 shares. someone bump this thread at the end of 2015 to see what its trading it. i dont see much downside from here and a good upside if silver can break out a little bit

Jesus christmas, there are some real doozies in this thread. Most of you need a financial adviser that you didn't meet at a bar.

For the record, I like Acebb's diversified mutual fund idea best, followed closely by Viejo's bar and ass combo.

XFiles - those returns are annualized, meaning that the investment returned an average of 7% every year for the past 10 years, which means you would have doubled your money if you invested in that fund back in 2005.

You can put 37.5k into RE pretty easily depending on where you live. As long as you aren't in/around 1 of the big coastal cities that is a good downpayment on a SFH that you can rent.

By adding to a pool of investors. I know a few who's minimum investment is 25k. I could either go the FLIP/Rehab route with people I know who do it or I could go the private, hard money route. Believe it or not, both are still very lucrative markets.

I'd probably just put it in my 401k.

everyone should have an asset allocation unique to them, for example, 5% cash, 5% high yield bonds, 5% low yield bonds, 10% international stocks, 40% large cap US stocks, 5% small cap stocks, 10% real estate, 20% gambling accounts

then when you get "extra" money, no matter the amount you know how to divide it up without thinking about it.

once or twice a year revisit your allocations and adjust %'s or re-balance.

good luck

I like this split.
Going to try something like this.
