Why would you want us to stop using Uber? You work for them and you don't want us to support the business? I live in the DC area and Uber is GOLD!

Wouldn't the best thing to do be airport drives? Just pickup 3-4 people at once that are catching flights at similar time and make like $150 for a 45 min trip?

If their model is sound, then securing reliable, enthusiastic drivers should be paramount. And the resulting long term partner revenues will reflect it with more reliable and consistent profits all around.

Believe with Uber you can only take 1person at a time (as in 1 group). So its just 1 charge no matter how many people are in the car if they are together. Cant have separate trips going on at once

Uber makes it possible for passengers to give rating and tips to drivers and vice-versa. According to the tutorial video on Uber, a written review may also be added along with the star ratings.
Here are some Uber rating tips to improve your credibility as a driver.
Maintain timeliness and reliability
More than the experience, most passengers are looking for timeliness and reliability from the Uber driver. This rating tip requires you to be "ready and prompt when accepting requests," the Uber tutorial said.
"We suggest drivers to only go online and accept trips when they are already in the vehicle and ready to drive," the company said.
The Uber rating hack and tip: Using a GPS in your car will help you study the area around and look at more efficient routes during vacant hours.
Make your passenger feel 'at home'
Being hospitable is not just engaging your passenger into a small talk or a conversation if the travel time is too long. Sometimes, this even irritates the passenger.
An international Uber driver shares some rating tips on how to get that five-star and sometimes, it is all in your extra amenities.
"Be sure to have snacks, water, sodas, multiple phone chargers, magazines, DVD player, WiFi hotspot, mini fridge, first aid kit, allergy pen, gums, mints and moist towelettes to accompany the sea food dinner you have already prepared. Also, have a second entrée choice, possibly a vegan choice as well," the driver said in an online forum.
The Uber rating hack and tip: Provide the essential - a cold water.
Dress professionally
Invest in clothes that present drivers in a professional way, especially if you are doing this full-time.
"There is no formal dress code in the Uber system, but that does not mean you should not think about your appearance," the Uber tutorial said.
Dressing appropriately reflects the driver's commitment to the business and will earn respect from the passenger. Therefore, gaining you the perfect Uber rating.
The Uber rating hack and tip: Introduce yourself. As something that regular taxi cab drivers do not do, this puts your Uber driving job in a much esteemed level.
Do not ask users to provide you with five stars
This appears like an Uber rating hack in itself. While drivers may ask the passengers to rate them, asking them for five stars is not advisable -- perhaps even if you believe you are delivering the perfect service.

</figure>An Uber driver who picked up a drunken woman at a D.C. bar and sexually assaulted her at a motel while she was unconscious has been found guilty of rape.
A jury convicted Westagne Pierre of second-degree rape Wednesday evening.
"This horrified all of us because so many rely on Uber to be transported around," Prince George's County State’s Attorney Angela Alsobrooks said at a news conference Friday.
On Oct. 18, 2016, an Uber user used the ride-hailing app to send a friend home to Fairfax, Virginia, after she blacked out from drinking at a D.C. bar, prosecutors say.

Pierre picked up the woman and drove her to Fairfax, but he stopped blocks away from her home and ended the fare. He then drove her to College Park, where he got a room at a Budget Inn, police said.

Surveillance video from the motel showed Pierre carrying the woman's limp body to the room, where prosecutors say he raped her.
"His defense was that he didn't realize that she wasn't enjoying it, I guess, and that he felt that somehow he had gotten a cue that it was consensual, which of course nothing could be further from the truth," Alsobrooks said.

Alsobrooks said no one at the motel saw Pierre carrying the woman's body because of the garden-style layout of the motel rooms.
He left the room 10 minutes later and drove to nearby 7-Eleven, where he bought $14 in snacks with the victim's credit card, Alsobrooks said.
He returned to the motel for another 10 minutes before leaving the victim there, prosecutors say.

The victim woke up in the empty room hours later and called police when she could not figure out how she got there. She told police she never gave Pierre permission to take her to the motel room or use her credit card.
Pierre faces up to 20 years in prison. He's due for sentencing in October.

Uber says it received a report about the incident from the rider, which led the company to remove the driver from the app.

"This was a deplorable crime that nobody should ever have to go through," Uber said in a statement to News4. "Our thoughts continue to be with the rider."
The rideshare company says it's working to make make their rides safer, including integrating an emergency button in the app so riders can connect to 911.

Passenger stabs Uber driver on Christmas Day in ‘random’ attack, California cops say

A passenger attacked a ride-hailing service driver with a knife on Christmas Day in a “random act of violence,” California sheriff’s officials said.

The passenger attacked the Uber driver after being driven to the entrance of Shiloh Ranch Regional Park in Santa Rosa about 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 25, KRON reported.

The man stabbed the driver twice in the neck and once in the elbow before getting out of the vehicle, Sonoma County sheriff’s officials said in a news release.

The injured man drove himself to the hospital, sheriff’s officials said. He is expected to survive.

Deputies arrested Tristan Mathew Hardin, 19, on an attempted murder charge on Monday, Dec. 27, the release said.

Officials ask that anyone with information contact detectives at 707-565-2121.

Damn! 7 years ago. Now fares are .64c mile and .18c a minute. I was grand fathered in at those rates, newer drivers get .60c and .16c.
The sad thing is drivers are driving at the flat fares. You are practically driving for free at this rates after expenses.

only way to do it now is to work the streak and quest bonuses. The money is still there just more of a game. And the game is growing old, very old.
