Doug,

You remind me of the seedy looking guy that roams 72nd street and broadway near my apartment.

He constantly mumbles to himself. If he had a computer I'm sure he'd start as many threads as you do too.

Dont take that personal.
Of course.

You are so absolutely right! It is so annoying to try to say: "Well sir, if it is 110 to win 100, then it is 55 to win 50" and have to explain that a thousand times because people have a real hard time understanding the fact underlying that God given relationship.

Don't get me started. Most kids these days can't add, calculators I suppose.

The poker room got $3 chips for the $9/18 game and they are now wreaking havoc on $4/8. Four chips, two $3 and two $1 DO constitute a pre-flop raise but the number of dealers and players who have problems is amazing.

Woody,

A simple solution to that problem would be to not allow the $3 chips on the 4/8 game.

And to finish your statement Doug:
If you don't know math... you should be sitting at my table.

Yes, I know that but the pit doesn't seem to understand.

Heck, a guy won a $2.50 pinkie (probably from the blackjack table) from an all in. I didn't see it go into the pot but as he pulled it in, as he was my immediate right. I immediately pointed out it didn't play and a supervisor so ruled.

The room's only been open a few month's and while some dealers are great others are less so.

I can certainly symathize with that, Woody. The dilution of good dealers and supervisors is a serious problem because of the explosive growth in poker. I deal with it on a daily basis.

Perhaps a kind word or suggestion to the supervisors or bosses could rectify the situation in the future. All too many poker players jump immediately down the throat of a beginner dealer or a supervisor and immediately put them on the defensive. Many times they are completely in the wrong.
Remember, a kind word can go far.

gd, you know what i noticed while playing no limit at the ip last fall? when some one would go all in and get a call, the loser (if he was calling a shorter stack) would ask the winner how much he had...then the loser would count out his chips and pass them over to the winner. the dealer wasn't involved.

not a big deal in a home game but, at a casino with all the potential for cheats and really, really drunk people, i was suprised to see that go on.

Hmm,
I'll look into it Blue. Certainly the dealer needs to verify amounts.

he would watch the exchange and when it was over he'd say "you guys good?". it wasnt like he was ignoring it but, the table i was at...the guys were so drunk they barely knew when the bet was to them.

i just didnt know if it was policy to allow the players to settle or not.

Definitely not the policy, and sounds like the dealer was lazy and negligent.
"You guy's good?", are you kidding me. Every day I hear something like this and it ticks me off, but I can't be there 24 hours a day.
