I will be back in Thailand from April 5th thru the end of April with about five or six of my gringo buddies that live in Costa Rica...will be in Pattaya most of the time...anyone here at the rx is welcome to meet us there...imagine, a mini-bash in Thailand....lots of pictures will be taken....

Nice rant. Problem is foreign women want an American man (besides money) is because he tends to treat a woman with more respect. Women from Asia or Latin America are hoping you won't cheat on them and are thrilled at the thought you won't beat them or denigrate them on a regular basis. Further they like how American men are accepting of a woman's wishes for career and a social life not solely involving family and husband. Reason why you aren't expected to do this is because American women won't let you get away with it. Just be prepared for challenges if you hope the girl you meet is meek and has some of the characteristics you don't like in American girls.

From what I hear Jakarta is a pit. Dangerous to Westerners and the traffic is horrendous. Some of the people I worked with in Singapore had to work there for a few weeks and none of them wanted to go back.
I will vouch for the depravity of Indonesia. I've been to a small island near Singapore called Batam, Indonesia so I know of what you speak.
