If you are a HS stud and can play in any conference in America, where do you want to play? NOT a school BUT A CONFERENCE ?

If I'm a really good player...then SEC.

If not...another conference where I might get a chance to play.

If I weighed 302 lbs., 6'5" tall and ran a 4.8 40, I'd probably want to play for Saban (specifically)
or possibly for Sarkisian and be the next Leonard Williams.

Depends on if you value a degree that will get you a great job if you don't make the NFL. It's a 40 year decision not a 4 year one.

Great choice as long as you don't get injured and happen to make an NFL roster....otherwise that degree they lead you into might get you a job as gym teacher or used car salesman

pretty much why domer fans are nationally hated...they honestly believe this shit. even in the middle of an academic fraud scandal they'll spew their "we operate at a different level" trash.

Nutered Dame fans used to be friendly. Now, since their team has played so terribly of late (minus one year), they think they have to prove how good they are. One of their own was responsible for USC getting such a tough sentence from the NCAA. This came conviently AFTER USC had defeated Nutered Dame 7 years in a row. This is what the Irish have stooped to. Most fans have a favorite team, but show respect for other teams, but not Nutered Dame fans.

Agree. I find it comical as well. There's no difference is a BA in Business from ND or Florida, Alabama, or Kentucky. NONE. Like they're teaching undergraduates anything different at ND than at an SEC school. It's a joke. If you care about academics you'll go to grad school. It's a completely different discussion than deciding where you want to play college football.

The only thing different about the academics are some schools are a little harder to get into but chances are if you are a dumb kid who makes dumb decisions you will lose the opportunity like the spence kid at OSU... When ND let the kid come back after they kicked him out for cheating that said something about the kid and the school... If u want to hold yourself above everyone else then when this happens the kid is gone and doesn't come back.

Go a little easy "loomis"......condescension can be a terrible thing. Just think how "RUDY" never would have reached stardom had that ND Admissions Officer prevailed and he (Rudy) would have ended-up at Holy Cross.

According to the NCAA, Alabama's sports teams Graduation Success Rate (GSR) lead the SEC during the 2013-14 season.

The football team ranked second in the SEC.

Agree, every situation is different. If I was a stud defensive lineman I would probably be looking at the SEC. If I'm a blue chip Rivals top 100 QB I would be contemplating whether I want to be a big fish in a small pond or go to the SEC where I won't have it as easy. Jamies Winston and Marcus Mariota definitely made the right decisions. Both win Heisman's in favorable conferences with the least amount of resistance for their style of football. Who knows how it would have been for them in the SEC. Or for that matter even the Big 10, which isn't exactly known for it's Heisman QB's. So if I'm a stud HS QB I would probably stay away from that conference unless it's Ohio State.

Thw bottom line is this. Do you want to play in the rust belt, or some place where you are going to freeze your tail off, or do you want to play in the South or the West, where sunshine is plentyful. Not much of a choice there.

the south wins !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

we have to pass our time some how guys ? i am ready for college football ! i rarely watch the nfl but there is nothing like college football imo.. some good points made by all.... qb's might go pac 12 big 12.. i guess from am exposure stand point and competition in the SEC if i want to play at the next level and challenge myself i go south.. i think all the conferences their own things that set them apart... not meant to diminish any school... lets be honest, what kid would not want to play D 1 anywhere? just my thoughts if i were a stud, i would do south.. maybe pac 12, or big 12.. to be totally honest as far as the midwest the only consideration i would give would be ND or Ohio State.... fuck the cold and snow.. wisky, mich, and penn st respectable schools too... just my bias.... not bad in those hotter climates where the girls wear less clothes !! ND is like sec schools, people love them or hate them.. i respect them.
