I'd be pissed we traded a traitor being charged with desertion for five terrorists while their loved ones sat in captivity and were ultimately killed.

I'd be steaming hot mad as hell.

One American life is worth at least 500 Arab lives, so we got a huge steal on the five-for-one trade, it's too bad no other potential trader partners could be duped like that

Why? One was a soldier, and we thankfully have an strict policy of not leaving a soldier behind. Civilians aren't sent there by our government, and while it's horrible when they are captured, it's not quite the same thing. I'd be steaming hot mad at our disgusting drone policy.

Really?

Where can I see this "strict policy"? Is it in the UCMJ? Or is it in some DOD publication?

Oh wait, there is no such "strict policy" You're a laughable liar who does nothing but come on to this Web site and lie. Endlessly.

It is well known within the military that they leave no man behind but a pussy like you would have no idea. You went the dick Cheney deferment route.

Yet we execute traitors...and everyone knew he was a traitor and a deserter.

You guys are embarrassing yourselves again.

If you're a family member, you best believe they feel it's the same thing.

Put yourselves in their shoes for a second. You trade a known deserter who was actually aiding the enemy for five terrorists yet your loved one is also an American and was left to sit in captivity and then ultimately killed by a drone?

Also, what is this strict policy of not leaving a soldier behind? Do you have a regulation you can reference that says such?

The minute he took his uniform off to aide the enemy, he becomes an enemy.

Actually, chickenhawk, I enlisted at 18. You're a laughable pathetic c-unt who would never, ever do such a thing.

"Well known"

Said by someone who of course would never enlist.

What a fucking moron.

First:

Then:

Yeah, I said the same thing. There is no such thing.

Hey chickenhawk, why don't you come back and tell the guy on active duty how "well known" this is?

You're pathetic, vittard.

lmao. You didn't ever enlist coward.

So now the guy that you refer to as enfago is the one you use as your backup source. Doubt he wants a guy like you backing up his position

I will stand with generations of military personnel who believe in no man left behind.

It isn't policy but if you research the no man left behind mantra throughout the military....it's pretty clear it is something they follow to the letter. I remember Fox News being up in arms because a military general was a guest on hannity and said Obama did exactly what he should have and we leave nobody behind.

Seems there was no clarification if he was an actual deserter or not. They said if he was, they would follow the letter of the law against him. Which they have. I think you'll find some military that agree with Obama on this and some don't.

Yes, you're right, there is no official policy but this is a different situation as he deserted.

And there is clarification that he deserted hence the reason he is being charged by the USA. If he weren't a deserter, he wouldn't have been charged.

We do not believe in "no man left behind" when it comes to desertion. There is a distinction.

im not sure it was clear he was a deserter until they had all the facts....which happened when he was returned and they actually spoke with.....he was then charged.

Um, the military stopped the draft in 1973 and at no point in my life have I been eligible for the draft. Therefore, it is literally impossible for me to have obtained any "deferment"

And again, unlike you, you laughably pathetic coward and shut in, I enlisted.

As to the preposterous assertion this is "well known"

former Sgt. Matt Vierkant

"I don't understand why we're trading prisoners at Gitmo for somebody who deserted during a time of war, which is an act of treason," Vierkant said.

Fmr. Army Sgt. Josh Korder

“I don’t think that it’s especially worth the life of a deserter to return five high Taliban commanders back to the battlefield. That’s just — that’s beyond me.”

As to the oft-repeated phrase heard last year from the White House in support of the prisoner exchange, along the lines of, “We never leave a man behind,” Korder took issue with that.

Korder said, “The same thing could be said about the people who are captured by ISIS, and we didn’t do any negotiating to get those people back. He was in the hands of a terrorist organization. Yes, he was in the armed services, but the fact that he deserted should have been part of the equation.”

The fact of the matter is you don't know anything about the military. You are a coward and cartoonishly ignorant. You are doing nothing but repeating a lie by the White House (headed by another chickenhawk).
Damn, you really, really need to stop talking about the military because you keep making an ass of yourself. Not to mention, you're a laughable c-unt who never served.
